When I process a paycheck, the amount showing up in my checking register is the net amount of pay (amount of the paycheck) plus my company taxes.

It does this automatically and does not allow me to edit. All previous paychecks (I've done this for years) show the actual check amount as it should.

Thanks for dropping by, @clingermanfamily. I'll share some insight on your query about processing paychecks.

You may have set up and scheduled your payroll to run. This is probably why the system creates your paychecks automatically.

If you wish to turn this off, you need to unenroll them. Ensure that you're logged in to your QBO as the primary admin. Once you're ready, here's how:

  1. Select Settings ⚙, then Payroll Settings
  2. In the Auto Payroll box, select Edit ✎.
  3. Select Select employees for Auto Payroll.
  4. Choose one or more of the enrolled employees.
  5. Click Save changes.
  6. Review the confirmation window, then hit Done.

Check out this guide for further reference: Set up and manage your Auto Payroll in QuickBooks Online Payroll.

If the issue persists, I'd recommend contacting our QuickBooks Online Payroll Support team again. They have tools to pull up your account and help you with the best process to handle this issue.

I'm also adding this resource that might be useful if you want to run payroll reports in QBO to help you track your business: Run payroll reports in QuickBooks Online Payroll. The same resources give you details on marking a report as a favorite, customizing it, and printing reports.

If there is anything else I can do to assist you with QuickBooks, particularly payroll-related activities, you can reach out to the Community at any time. I'll be standing by for your response. Stay safe always.

I am also having this exact problem. First time this has happened. Every other payroll has ran just fine.
