Why aren't Contractor Reports available in Quickbooks Payroll Online? Am I the only one seeing this problem?

Thank you for reaching out to us here on the Community page, @karen185.

I can assist you with information on the 1099 report in QuickBooks Online. Let's follow these steps to create the statement that you need.

For last year's vendor payments, here's how to generate the year-to-date report:

  1. From the Expenses menu, select Vendors.
  2. Select Prepare 1099s.
  3. Choose Let's get started or Continue your 1099s.
  4. Follow the steps to prepare 1099s. The report you're looking for is on "Step 4: Review - Check that the payments add up."
  5. Click the Print Information Sheet button.

For the current year's vendor payment, generating a report for the payments made to your 1099 vendors is not possible. However, you can customize the Transaction List by Vendor report.

Here's how:

  1. Sign in to your QuickBooks Online (QBO) account.
  2. Go to Reports at the left pane, then type in Transaction List by Vendor on the search field.
  3. Tap on the Customize button.
  4. Under the Report period section, select the date you want to display on the report.
  5. From the Filter section tick the box beside the Transaction Type.
  6. From the Transaction Type dropdown arrow, put a checkmark in the Payment box.
  7. Tick the box beside the Vendor box and click the dropdown arrow to select your 1099 vendors.
  8. Once you are done, select Run report.

To learn more about our report features in QuickBooks, see this article about running reports. It includes instructions on how to modify and memorize them.

For more details, you can check out this article: Fix missing contractors or wrong amounts on 1099.

I'm still here if you have further questions about running reports or any QBO related. Just post the details below and I'll reply as quickly as I can.
