Workforce show message employer isn't connected to QuickBooks Payroll. Contact them to access your paycheck

Hello there, @Denise37. I’ll assist you with how they can access the workforce in QuickBooks Online.

If an employee's unable to access QuickBooks Workforce, make sure that they got an invite to the page.

Here’s how:

  1. Select Employees, then Payroll.
  2. Choose the option to Add employee.
  3. Include your employee's contact information, such as their email address. This will prompt your employee to view his or her pay stubs and W-2s. An email will be sent to them with details on how to set up their Workforce account. Select the Ask this employee to input their personal, tax, and banking information with QuickBooks Workforce checkbox if you want your new employee to enter their personal information.
  4. Select Done.

You can also check this article for additional details on inviting your employee to QuickBooks Workflow to see pay stubs and W-2. You can also invite many employees at the same time in the article provided.

Alternatively, I added an article that gives you more information about managing employees in QuickBooks Online.

If the issue persists, I suggest executing the troubleshooting steps to have the best experience in navigating QuickBooks Online.

Here’s how:

Please let me know how it goes. I’ll be here to provide more information.

Workforce show message employer isn't connected to QuickBooks Payroll. Contact them to access your paycheck

I don't know  if your employee is still not able to connect or not but here's my experience.

I already have an Intuit/QB account so I didn't have to create one. I tried to use the activation link on my PC in a Firefox browser. I got the, "Sorry, your employer no longer has a QB Workforce account..." I tried the link on my phone, which also uses Firefox as my default browser, and it worked with my existing account.

If they can't do it on one device, have them try another.

I have an employee (just 1) who cannot access their paystub. It says to contact employer but I have re-invited her on my end with no luck. She has an intuit account for her taxes with the same email. Can you please assist?

Ensuring that employees can access their paystubs is crucial for a smooth payroll process, @lmbookkeeping.

Let's work together to troubleshoot the issue and find a solution that allows your employee to access their paystub conveniently.

Before we continue, could you please clarify whether you sent it using a new email or an existing one? Any additional details you can provide would be greatly appreciated.

It seems that despite your attempts to re-invite her on your end, the problem persists. To address this, please advise your employee to log into Workforce using the accurate user ID and password. It's essential to note that using an Intuit account login (e.g., TurboTax or Mint) that is not linked to your Workforce account may result in an error message.

Meanwhile, you can access this link and log in by entering your email and password: https://accounts.intuit.com. Afterward, follow the subsequent instructions to complete the process.

  1. Click edit on the user id (change user id into something else other than the email)
  2. Go back to the invitation email
  3. Click to get access to the paychecks tab
  4. Create an account by entering the full email address and setting up a password.

After that, I suggest going back to the invitation email and completing the account setup for the Workforce.

If the issue persists, allow your employee to contact our support team. They have advanced tools to view your account in a secure environment and help you investigate the root cause of your concern.

Moreover, you may consider sharing this article with your employee, as it offers helpful instructions on how to effectively manage personal and payroll records in Workforce: View your paychecks and W-2s in QuickBooks.

Let me know the result in the comment section below. I'll be around to help you further with your employee's QuickBooks Workforce concern. Keep safe always!

Workforce show message employer isn't connected to QuickBooks Payroll. Contact them to access your paycheck

This is insane- I am having the same issue and nothing seems to be working. Also, it's impossible to get in contact with support! My employer revoked access and re-sent the invite to a new email address, and I am still getting the same error message. It's been over a week and I can't access my own pay stub. No phone numbers for Quickbooks, can't find a live chat. What gives!

  3. Enter a description of your situation in the What can we help you with? field, then hit Let's talk.

Workforce show message employer isn't connected to QuickBooks Payroll. Contact them to access your paycheck

Hello giridhar552,

Thank you for connecting with the Community and sharing that screenshot! It seems as if your employer is not connected with QuickBooks Online, hence why you are not able to see your paycheck. I would like you to verify two things for me. First, did you ever receive an invitation from your company to set up an account for Workforce and follow the on-screen instructions? Second, could you verify with your employer if they have QuickBooks Workforce?

Looking forward to your response! See you soon. Take care.

I'm getting this same problem, and we are connected. I oversee all of this and have a few employees getting this error, and some who are not getting it at all. Some get only T-Sheets info, and no Workforce.

I want to make sure you're able to work in QuickBooks without receiving this error.

To get this resolved as quickly as possible, I recommend reaching out to a member of the QuickBooks Online Payroll Support Team. They'll be able to take a more in depth look as to why it's saying your account isn't connected. An agent will also be able to get the problem escalated for you if need be.

Here's how to get in touch with the team:

1. Click the Help (?) button.
2. Select either tab to get started:
  - Assistant: Get quick, personalized answers. Select a suggested option, or type a question or topic you need help with. If you decide you need further help, you can still Talk to a human.
  - Search: Search the QuickBooks Online knowledge base directly, or select Contact Us and choose a way to connect with us:
    a. Start a chat with a support expert.
    b. Get a callback from the next available expert.

The following article provides these steps if you ever need them again in the future: QuickBooks Online Support

Please feel free to reach back out if you have any other questions. I'll be here to help in any way that I can.

Workforce show message employer isn't connected to QuickBooks Payroll. Contact them to access your paycheck

Thanks for joining this thread, Charliea5. Rest assured, there are several troubleshooting steps you can take to resolve this prompt message in QuickBooks Workforce.

To rectify the error message prompted, you can double-check your QuickBooks Online Payroll account status to see if you're still connected to QuickBooks Online (QBO) or QuickBooks Desktop Desktop.

If you are using QuickBooks Online Payroll, here's how:

  1. Sign in to your QuickBooks Online Payroll as a Primary admin.
  2. Go to Settings, then Subscriptions and billing.
  3. QuickBooks Online Payroll has 3 services: Core, Premium, and Elite.

If you're utilizing a QuickBooks Desktop account, refer to these steps:

  1. Sign in to your QuickBooks Desktop company file as the Primary Admin or Payroll Admin.
  2. Choose the Employees tab then Payroll Center
  3. From the Payroll section, you’ll see which payroll service you’re using under Subscription Statuses.

If this isn't the case, I recommend revoking your employee’s access to Workforce first. After that, you’ll need to resend the invitation to the updated email address and invite them again.

Here's how:

  1. Select Payroll from the sidebar menu.
  2. Go to the Employees.
  3. Choose the employee.
  4. In the Personal info section, select Revoke Access next to We’ve invited [employee] to view their pay stubs and W-2sonline with QuickBooks Workforce.
  5. Click Revoke Access.
  6. Make sure to update the employee’s email address, then select Resend Invite.
  7. Click Done to complete the process.

If you are using QuickBooks Desktop, remove and reinvite your employees by referring to this page: Invite your employees to QuickBooks Workforce to see pay stubs and W-2s if you use QuickBooks Deskto....

Once done, your employee will receive a new email and let them complete their new setup in the workforce. You can share this article with them: Set up your QuickBooks Workforce account.

Additionally, You can teach them how to view their paychecks and W-2s, and manage their personal information on this page: View your paychecks and W-2s in QuickBooks Workforce.

Add your remarks in this thread again if you encounter any further problems or have additional questions. We’re here to help and ensure everything runs smoothly.

You can't reinvite an employee that is already enrolled via QB desktop.  There is no option to change anything in the cloud services.  Please advise on how to fix this.

Thanks for reaching out to the Community, charliea5

If you're encountering a "We can’t get your info. Your employer isn’t connected to QuickBooks Payroll. Contact them to access your paycheck." message in QuickBooks Workforce, with QuickBooks Desktop Payroll, and you're unable to troubleshoot by re-inviting the employee, I'd recommend getting in touch with our Customer Care team.

They'll be able to pull up your account in a secure environment, conduct further research with you, and create an investigation ticket if necessary.

They can be reached while using QuickBooks.

Here's how:

  1. In your top menu bar, go to Help, then QuickBooks Desktop Help.

  2. Click Contact Us.

  3. Enter a brief description of the issue in our Ask a question (or tell us what's wrong) field.

  4. Hit Continue.

  5. Select We’ll contact you for a callback or Message Us to start an instant messaging session.

Be sure to review their support hours so you'll know when agents are available.

Please feel more than welcome in sending a reply if there's any questions. Enjoy the rest of your Friday!
