Gusto works with QuickBooks by exporting .iif files as General Ledger entries. It works - just make sure the option is on in Gusto (contact them if you don't see how to turn it on but I recall it was pretty easy).  Then every time you run Payroll you'll see an option to download the .iif files.  Use File->Import->IIF files to bring these into QuickBooks.

The result is General Journal entries.  This works - it isn't as good as the integration with Intuit Online Payroll which generates checks to the correct entities. But it will do the job.
