It’s nice to see you in the Community, lsbangs.

If the employee (officer of the corp) is subject to state unemployment tax, there should be an amount deducted on the paycheck. Let’s open the employee information to check if it’s set up properly.

Here’s how:

  1. Tap the Employees menu at the top to choose the Employee Center.
  2. From there, select the Employees tab and then double-click on the worker’s name to open its profile.
  3. Go to the Payroll info on the left panel and press Taxes to select the State tab.
  4. Make sure to mark the box for SUI (Company Paid).

  5. After reviewing the profile, click OK to close the window.

Next, download the latest tax table version. These updates will provide the most current and accurate rates and calculations for supported state and federal tax tables, and payroll tax forms.

  1. Go to the Employees menu and choose Get Payroll Updates.
  2. Mark the radio button for Download Entire Update.
  3. Click Download Latest Update.

Next, revert your employee's paycheck to refresh the payroll information. I can show the steps on how to accomplish this task in QuickBooks.

  1. Open your employee's Payroll Information.
  2. Right-click the name of your employee which highlighted in yellow.
  3. Choose Revert Paycheck.

If you continue to get the same result, check out the QuickBooks Desktop calculates wages and/or payroll taxes incorrectly guide. It provides an overview of why taxes are not calculating.

Since the troubleshooting is scenario-based, I suggest following the steps that fit your situation.
