We're missing project labor data from 2 weeks in May that was input via weekly timesheets. Has anyone else encountered this? What can I do to make my data usable?

We'd be glad to provide details if that will help with getting this answered.

I've got your back, @angelicaqb-roofs. I can share with you some insights and steps to view your missing project labor data via weekly timesheets.

Before we proceed, may I ask what report are you trying to generate? I appreciate any extra information you can give and it will help us isolate the issue and provide the best solution.

Also, the reports will calculate labor costs based on either payroll expenses or hourly costs. If you are still adding labor data in your timesheets, hourly costs must be the preferred type. If you already run payroll, you must select payroll expenses.

If the issue persists after applying the correct filters, we can perform some troubleshooting steps to fix this. There are times that the browser is full of frequently accessed page resources, which causes some errors and/or unusual responses. Let's start by accessing your account using a different or a private browser.

You can use either of these shortcut keys:

  • Google Chrome: Ctrl Shift N
  • Mozilla Firefox: Ctrl Shift P
  • Microsoft Edge: Ctrl Shift P
  • Safari: Command Shift N

If it works successfully, you'd want to clear your regular browser's cache to prevent any unexpected behavior. Also, you can use other compatible browsers in QBO.

Additionally, I'll be sharing these relevant articles to help you manage projects in QuickBooks Online:

Thank you for your response @TheresaC . We've been running payroll through Quickbooks Online payroll core since the beginning of the year and has worked fine and shown labor on project correctly. We reached out to QBO support and were told that there was an issue and an ongoing investigation was going on. What do we do now with our missing labor? Can we expect it to be fixed soon? And when it's fixed will QBO rerun payroll for the affected weeks of missing labor?

Hey there, angelicaqb-roofs.

For now, the most recent update that I have is that our engineers are all hands on deck working together for an immediate fix to sort everything out.

As long as you've already contacted our QuickBooks Online Support, you'll be notified immediately through your email once an update is available.

In the meantime, I recommend going through the following article. This link contains more information about other ways to deal with the project feature in QuickBooks Online: Projects FAQ.

Additionally, once the issue is resolved, I recommend customizing the report to get the specific details you need. You can also memorize it to save its current customization settings. It serves as your record and helps you quickly access it for future use.

I appreciate your patience while this is being worked on. I'm always around to lend a hand if you have more questions about QuickBooks. Take care and have a good one.
