What happened to QuickBooks Self Employed? I can only find Soloprenuer, I don't want that. Can someone direct me to the Self Employed sign up page?

After over an hour of Googling and searching, I can't locate Quickbooks Self Employed sign up page anywhere! I use Self Employed and want my husband to sign up for his business as well but we can't find the link anywhere. He signed up for Soloprenuer but it lacks all of the things I love about Self Employed. Please help!

Hello there. I understand the frustration this may have caused you.

Indeed, we no longer offer QuickBooks Self-Employed. The good thing is if you have subscribed to QuickBooks Self-Employed, you can continue using it. However, since your husband is a new user, I recommend exploring our other product options, including QuickBooks Solopreneur.

You can refer to the Introduction to QuickBooks Solopreneur article to learn more about the transition. It provides insights into the differences between the two products and how QuickBooks Solopreneur caters to one-person businesses like yours.

Additionally, since you want the QuickBooks Self-Employed, consider providing feedback about your experience. QuickBooks values user input, and your suggestions may influence future updates.

Here’s how to submit feedback:

  1. Click the Gear icon in the top right corner.
  2. Select Feedback.
  3. Enter your comments or suggestions and click Submit.

You can also track the status of your request in our customer Feedback for QuickBooks Online.

While waiting, stay updated by visiting our QuickBooks Blog for the latest innovations and product news.

Feel free to reach out if you need further assistance with your husband's subscription or have any other QuickBooks-related inquiries. Stay safe.

I have a quickbooks self employed membership but the mileage tracker hasn’t been working so I deleted it but when I went to reinstall it, the app was gone. Since I still have an account can you send me the link to download the app again?

Let me help you with using the QuickBooks Self-Employed (QBSE) mobile app to automatically track your business miles, Andreap87.

If you are referring to the mileage auto-tracking feature, then we don't need to send the link to download it again. Just enable this feature on your QBSE mobile app. Let me guide you how:

  1. Open the QuickBooks Self-Employed mobile app.
  2. Click the Menu ☰ icon.
  3. Choose the Mileage menu.
  4. Select and turn on Auto-tracking.
  5. After you turn on Auto-Tracking for the first time, you’ll need to authorize the app to use location services.

Once done, proceed to the next steps in Step 2 and 3 in this article to finish the process: Automatically track mileage in QuickBooks Self-Employed. To learn more about what to do if you have problems tracking work trips on your mobile devices, check out these articles:

Know that our door is open 24/7 if you need assistance performing specific tasks in QBSE. You can also utilize the REPLY button below if you have any additional QuickBooks-related concerns. Rest assured, I'll be here to help.

What happened to QuickBooks Self Employed? I can only find Soloprenuer, I don't want that. Can someone direct me to the Self Employed sign up page?

Super extremely annoyed QuickBooks has discontinued Self Employed. The biggest disappointment in this solo-manure app does not do receipt capture/match like its predecessor did. I have preached QBSE and gotten so many people to sign up because it was the best app out there that did it all, plus even had awesome transfer to TurboTax when it came tax time. Those days are no longer, because corporate greed has won again. They made too good of a product, so now they broke it down and pieced it out to their other, more expensive options. For the first time in over 10 years and close to 500 clients I alone have brought Intuit, I will no longer be recommending you and am looking for alternatives. Congratulations on your big sell out, I hope it will be worth it.

Hi there, Amy.

I understand that finding your preferred version of QuickBooks is crucial for managing your business effectively. Here’s some clarity on the situation:

  • Product Transition: QuickBooks Self-Employed will be discontinued as part of our effort to streamline our offerings and better focus on solutions tailored to the evolving needs of freelancers and small business owners.
  • Introducing Solopreneur: In its place, we've introduced QuickBooks Solopreneur, a more robust platform designed to cater specifically to the needs of solo entrepreneurs. This new solution aims to offer enhanced features that support the unique challenges faced by individuals running their businesses alone.
  • Enhanced Features: QuickBooks Solopreneur includes several upgrades and additional functionalities that are unavailable in the QuickBooks Self-Employed version. These enhancements aim to provide superior assistance in expense tracking, tax estimations, and financial reporting crafted with feedback from our valued users like you.

Furthermore, you can also consider checking out this article about what's new to QuickBooks Solopreneur: Get organized with QuickBooks Solopreneur.

What happened to QuickBooks Self Employed? I can only find Soloprenuer, I don't want that. Can someone direct me to the Self Employed sign up page?

I just want to know why QuickBooks removed receipt capture? If Solo-manure is supposed to be such a great app, why remove a function that’s desperately needed for people running their own business?? Now I have to have a separate app for receipt logging, because as far as I know, the government still requires you track all receipts if you want to work for yourself. Incredibly frustrated, Intuit!

Hello jrissel, I hear your sentiments and acknowledge your thoughts on this.

I see that the receipt capture has proven invaluable for organizing your financial data. Moving from QuickBooks Self-Employed to QuickBooks Solopreneur would be ideal to retain familiar features, especially the Receipt capture feature. However, this isn't currently available in QuickBooks Solopreneur (QBSP).

We highly value your experience and insights. I recommend submitting your suggestions directly to our product engineers for evaluation. Here's how:

  1. Log in to your QuickBooks account.
  2. Go to the Gear icon.
  3. Under the Profile column, select Feedback.

I've got your back, @Ladyandacat.

I'll help you re-download your QuickBooks Self-Employed on your mobile app so you can continue seamlessly using it.

You'll want to use the same app store account you used previously for downloading the app. For instructions to download again the previously purchased apps, refer to Apple and Google instructions:

Also, we've got some updates for our users about the QBSE app availability. For more details, please visit this resource: QuickBooks Self-Employed mobile app availability update.

Moreover, you might want to consider checking out our latest QuickBooks Solopreneur. It is a similar product with advanced features for organizing business and personal transactions, tracking mileage, and measuring business performance.

Unbelievable and Unacceptable.  As an self employed entrepreneur, Receipt Capture and Milage are the two biggest reasons to use an app like this and you have completely lost your entire audience by not including a receipt capture in your new product.  I am shocked and dismayed that a company like intuit would choose to go this route! Please fix it now...the more time people like myself spend finding new apps to resolve our needs, the further away you get removed from our patronage.

I have quickbooks self employed & have been using & paying for it for at least 2 years but my mobile app says it's no longer available online. What am I paying for if I cannot access it on my phone? I can login on my laptop but there is no longer customer support option but cannot login on my phone. Also the mileage tracker has virtually stopped working since October 2023. If I cannot use the app on my phone I just might cancel & find an app that actually works.

What happened to QuickBooks Self Employed? I can only find Soloprenuer, I don't want that. Can someone direct me to the Self Employed sign up page?

Thanks for joining here in this thread, @bet4kids . I'll share some information about why the QuickBooks Self-Employed (QBSE) mobile app is no longer available.

Starting from March 24, 2024, the QBSE mobile app will cease to be accessible for download. However, if you downloaded the QBSE mobile app from the Google Play or Apple App stores before March 24, 2024, you will still be able to use the app and reinstall it using the same app store account used for the initial download.

On the other hand, if you upgraded your phone or deleted the QBSE mobile app, you can locate the app for redownload in your app store account history. Be sure to use the same app store account you used previously to redownload the app. Please find instructions in any of the links below:

For more details about the availability of the QBSE app, check out this article: QBSE mobile app availability update.

Additionally, you can also consider checking out our latest QuickBooks Solopreneur. It's a similar product with more advanced features and helps you organize your business and personal transactions, track mileage, and measure your business performance.

If you need help accessing your QuickBooks Self-Employed mobile app or have any other QuickBooks-related concerns, please leave a comment below to let us know. We are more than willing to assist you in resolving these issues as quickly as possible. Stay safe!

What, specifically, is “more advanced” about the new QBSP as compared to QBSE? You keep saying it offers more advanced tools, but so far it appears that important features such as receipt capturing has actually been removed.

What happened to QuickBooks Self Employed? I can only find Soloprenuer, I don't want that. Can someone direct me to the Self Employed sign up page?

I'm here to provide clarifications regarding your concern about QuickBooks Solopreneur and its features, Cmonster.

With QuickBooks Solopreneur, users can create estimates, add products or services, and keep track of sales taxes. It provides user-friendly reports and dashboards to help users make informed decisions.

We value our customers' input and consider their feedback when enhancing or introducing new features. I recommend sending a request to our engineers to incorporate the receipt capture function into the program for upcoming releases.

Here's how:

  1. Navigate to the Gear icon in the upper right and select Feedback under Profile.
  2. This action will open the Feedback window.
  3. From there, type a brief description of your product suggestions.
  4. Click Next to submit.

We invite you to explore the QuickBooks Blog to stay updated on the latest product updates and improvements rolled out by our engineers. What happened to QuickBooks Self Employed? I can only find Soloprenuer, I don't want that. Can someone direct me to the Self Employed sign up page?

Since Self-Employed does not have receipt capture, I am going to have to move to Simple Start. But there's a catch......YOU CAN'T TRANSFER DATA! After sitting on chat and the phone with QB Support, they told me:

  • You can't download/transfer receipts and would have to manually re-upload them
  • You can't download/transfer invoices and would have to manually re-upload them
  • You can only download/transfer one year of transactions
  • There is no current workaround to this other than manually entering the information yourself

The Support person informed me that they will eventually move everyone over to Solopreneur and that she EXPECTS all data to be transferred but it hasn't been confirmed yet. Then, if you want to upgrade to Simple Start (for the receipt capture), then you would be able to do a clean transfer of historical data from Solopreneur to Simple Start.

This is a mess. I can't believe they are going to discontinue an accounting product and not have a solution to allow you to keep historical data.

Thanks for joining the Community and getting involved with this thread, R2 Group.

You can export a detailed list of all your transactions as a CSV file.

Here's how:

  1. Go to the Transactions menu.
  2. Use your Type, Account, and Time period ▼ drop-downs to sort the transactions.
  3. Select your Export icon.

You'll want to be aware that receipts won't be exported with transaction records. You can download receipts from specific transactions, or go to the Reports menu and download all receipts for specific tax years.

If you plan on upgrading to a QuickBooks Online plan and would like to import your exported transactions, you'll want to refer to our Format CSV files in Excel to import transactions article. After confirming your CSV file(s) are formatted properly, you can manually upload them.

In regard to your feedback, you can follow the steps in my colleague's posts above to submit feature requests about what changes you'd like to see.

I've also included a couple detailed resources about moving from QuickBooks Self-Employed which may come in handy moving forward:

I value the importance of your data, Robin. Let me help you retrieve your QuickBooks Self-employed (QBSE) app and your records.

If you have downloaded the QBSE mobile app from the Google Play or Apple App stores before the discontinuation date of March 24, 2024, you can still use the app and reinstall it.

To reinstall the uninstalled/deleted QBSE mobile app, you can locate it in your App Store or Play Store account history. Please use the same App Store/Play Store account to re-download the app.  Refer to the detailed instructions in any of the links below:

If your existing data is still missing after reinstalling the app, you can log in to your QuickBooks account using a web browser to check the file.

Moreover, you might want to explore our most recent QuickBooks Solopreneur. It offers enhanced features for organizing your business and personal transactions, monitoring mileage, and assessing your business performance.
