When installing payroll update I keep getting Error 15270 and can't proceed. Help! I have to pay taxes!

Hi there, KCIowa.

Error Code 15270 is a connectivity error that shows up when updating QuickBooks. Let's follow these steps to resolve the error and make sure you're able to download the update:

  1. Switch your internet connection from wireless (or Wi-Fi) to hard wire.
  2. Repair QuickBooks
  3. Run Reboot.bat

Once done, let's update QuickBooks once more time to check if that removes the error. Though, if you're still getting the roadblock, please proceed to these steps below:

Leave a note below if you need anything else.

We have performed all the above tasks to no avail!  We talked with QB representatives on Monday for approximately 1-1/2 hours trying to solve the problem - they asked if they could call us back after consulting with their team of experts - we are still waiting for that call!  I would like to have a senior technical expert look at this problem immediately because it is now impacting my ability to perform payroll and other business functions.

Very poor service so far.

I ended up turning off my anti-virus for 10 minutes and everything cleared right up.
