This isn't the kind of experience we want you to have while adding trips to your Mileage tab in QuickBooks Online (QBO), @userdavid-layman0723.
The QBO system's unusual behavior can sometimes due to the browser's overtime collection of data from frequent page visits. To isolate this matter, you can perform some troubleshooting steps.
You can start by pulling up your QuickBooks Online (QBO) account using a private browser (incognito). Here's how:
- Press Ctrl + Shift + N (Google Chrome)
- Ctrl + Shift + P (Firefox)
- Control + Option + P (Safari)
Once signed in, go to the Mileage tab and add a trip. If you're able to do so and the date default to the current one (i.e., 06/11/21), return to your default browser and clear its cache. This will refresh the system and remove older data that causes viewing and performances issue. However, if this matter continues, I'd recommend using other supported browsers.
I've attached a screenshot for your reference.

Also, QBO has everything you need to calculate your business miles and vehicle expense deductions to make sure you're ready at tax time. If you wish to earn more about this, you can check out this article: Track mileage in QuickBooks Online.
Please keep me posted on how it goes in the comments below. If you have other mileage concerns, I'll be glad to help. Take care and stay safe @userdavid-layman0723.
