Why does Intuit hire incompetent, lying employees who choose not to do their jobs?

Hi bills2,

If I were in the same situation, I would feel the same. This is not the kind of customer service we want you to experience. Rest assured this is taken care of.

Let's downgrade your plan in-product. Let me guide you through how.

  1. Sign in to QuickBooks Online as an admin.
  2. Go to Gear then Account and Settings.
  3. Choose Billing & Subscription. Make sure your payment info is updated and valid.
  4. Select Downgrade. The "Change my plan" page shows your current plan, and other plans you can downgrade to. Can't see the downgrade option?
  5. Find the new plan you want, then Choose Plan.
  6. Review what goes away with your new plan. If you’re ready to downgrade, hit Next.
  7. Take care of any stoppers that appear. In case you encounter any problems when fixing stoppers, fix them manually. Follow the steps in "Take care of possible downgrade issues" section, then go back here once you're done.
  8. Review your new billing details. Press Change plan to complete the process.
  9. Sign out of QuickBooks Online.

Why does Intuit hire incompetent, lying employees who choose not to do their jobs?

I called in to QuickBooks (lack of) Support, lady Mel took my call, she was unsure of how to downgrade a plan and said she would check on it and never did. She got back with me one time just to say she was still waiting on an answer. She never replied to my emails again after that.

At the end of December, I had to call in again since she never got back to me. I talked to a rep that again sounded like she knew what she was doing, she sent me the changeplans link, but it turns out that it is incorrect also. The correct link is changeplan. They people at Intuit are freaking idiots. Even the manager I got on the phone, who was super nice, emailed me the wrong link for changeplans instead of changeplan. Idiot. I mean seriously, how can one company find so many incompetent people to consistently work for one company? This is nothing new, and it has improved - it used to be even worse.

This morning, I changed my plan from annual pay to monthly pay, as I was instructed to do, so that I can downgrade my plan, and when I use the correct link https://c3.qbo.intuit.com/app/changeplan, it errors out after I have selected the plan I want to downgrade to. So, I guess the Intuit developers are idiots, too. I am not sure why I continue to let these people manage my money - scary.

Can you please find me one or two competent people that work at Intuit to get me some help and get my plan downgraded?

Thank you kindly,

Bryan

Thank you. However, it does not work as smoothly or in the exact steps you described. After it gave me the error in changing the plan, it did not change the plan. I came back and logged in 2 hours later, and it had downgraded my plan. So, it is done now, but the steps that were given did not flow as suggested.

Why does Intuit hire incompetent, lying employees who choose not to do their jobs?

I would also like to know why quickbooks hires people who not only don't do their jobs but say I may not get a full refund when they did nothing. I hired a female live book keeper to clean up my information and she said as long as I uploaded all the information, that this would be done within 30 days. She also said she would get back in touch with me about any questions I had within 2 business days. I uploaded all the information she asked for, noticed she had done nothing, asked if I needed to file an extension since she had mentioned I would possibly need to for allowing her more time to complete the clean up and she said nothing for four days. I had to schedule an appointment to get her to talk to me for 12 minutes. She informed me even though she had all the documentation I spent 5 to 6 hours going through to give her that she couldn't do anything and I would need to call a quickbooks accountant or spend hours on the phone with the irs to get help filing an extension before she could do anything for me. She couldn't even remember if she was helping me with 2022 taxes or not and asked why I was talking about filing an extension until I said filing the extension was for quarterly payments based on the advice she gave me.  I spent three hours on the phone before I was able to talk to someone with the irs and talked to a quickbooks tax accountant who said they could not help me file an extension for estimated quarterly payments for 2022. I told the book keeper what happened, that I planned to downgrade my account and get a complete refund of my five hundred dollars. She said I may not get a full refund because of onboarding fees. Essentially, this woman did nothing, I trusted her with my personal information, paid her five hundred dollars thinking I was going to get great customer service and now I'm stuck in a nightmarish, stressful situation with my taxes and I'm possibly going to be short of five hundred dollars. I filled out a refund request form stating I had been scammed.

How did you hire her?

I hired her through quickbooks live book keeping.

Why does Intuit hire incompetent, lying employees who choose not to do their jobs?

I hired her through quickbooks live book keeping. At first, I had quickbook essentials and saw an ad that a clean up could be done in 30 days on my financial information if I upgraded my account. I upgraded my account, got matched with this lady as a book keeper who explained if I used live book keeping that I couldn't use quickbooks software to pay my quarterly estimates and would have to use another payment method. She also said she was not an accountant or cpa but could clean up my information as long as I uploaded the documentation she required in a timely manner and an extension to file for quarterly payments may not be necessary. I uploaded all the information she asked for that night spending five to six hours looking through receipts and other documentation and uploaded it into the quickbooks website. The lady alsobsaid she needed to set upva business account, organize my expenses and put everything on a spreadsheet for her which I did.The lady said she had everything she needed and would get back to me within a two day period on any questions I had. Four days passed and she did nothing. Concerned, I asked if I needed to file an extension to give her time to do what she needed. She did not respond. I had to schedule an appointment to get her to talk to me for 12 minutes. She asked why I thought I needed to file an extension if I had done my 2021 taxes. I told her the extension was a suggestion she had given me and she asked if she was helping with my 2021 or 2022 taxes. I told her she was helping with my 2022 taxes and she said she could not help me unless I filed an extension within the next few days and to spend hours on the phone with the irs to obtain the needed information for filing an extension or ask a pro tax accountant for help filing the extension. I did get ahold of a lady after 3 hours of waiting for an irs representative to help me and she said she could not help me file an extension over the phone. I talked to a pro tax advisor who said he could not help me with filing an extension for quarterly estimated payments but he said filing an extension for federal and state taxes was more important and he could not understand why the book keeper said she couldn't do a clean up of my information when I had given her all the documentation she asked for and said filing an extension for quarterly payments really shouldn't be the sole reason my information isn't cleaned up. I went back to the lady and said I was going to get a refund of my five hundred dollars and downgrade my account. She said I possibly would not be getting my full refund due to on boarding fees. So essentially, I gave a quickbooks certified book keeper all the documentation she asked for, flipped around my finances and set up a business account she told me to do, was told she had everything she needed, could answer any questions I had, she did nothing, did not even likely look at my information since she had no idea I filed my 2021 taxes the second time she talked to me and informed me I would not be getting a full refund of all the money I worked hard to save and gave quickbooks thinking I could put my trust, money and information with and go focus on other things I love doing. Instead, I'm trapped in nightmarish reality that no one has done anything to help me with my taxes and I'm possibly going to be short of five hundred dollars I could have given to a verified cpa for tax assistance. I do not make much money and it will be a very long time before I see five hundred dollars again I can give to anyone for tax assistance.

This post is a perfect example of how the Quick Book support folks do not read our questions.  They are too quick to copy and paste pre-printed boiler plate answers.    Most of the stuff they "copy and paste" is not helpful and has little to do with the issues folks have.   I think if the Quick Book Help support people would maybe read the questions aloud a few times they may understand.  It could be a language barrier as a previous poster suggested.  But I do not think so.

I don't think the support team cares beyond doing the bare minimum in posting a response. Just realize it's up to you to post a response with a solution that is going to help other people. In my case, I've been told I have to wait three to five days while billing decides if I'm elgible for a full refund. I was so mad. I yelled and cussed at customer service because I could have used that money towards paying my bills or someone else to help cleaning up my financial information that would do their job. I'm calling again because I'm getting my money. Don't ever use live book keeping with quickbooks. Just use their software to manage your financial information. Hire a cpa or bank accountant in your area if you feel you need assistance with your finances.
