Why does my mileage tracker not always track mileage...and sometimes picks up trips that never actually happened?

Good morning, @JATheodore

Thanks for posting your question here. I'd be happy to help you fix the mileage tracking in QuickBooks Self-Employed.

Let's go ahead and see if there are any adjustments to be made in the Mileage settings, and here's how:

  1. Open the QuickBooks Self-Employed app.
  2. Select the Menu icon.
  3. Choose Settings
  4. Click on Mileage settings

Once you've followed the steps above, review the list in the Avoid missed trips section. If the settings have a green check, you're good to go. If you see a (!), follow the on-screen instructions to make the necessary adjustments.

I tied to follow these steps. I'm an UBER driver and I've used other apps for tracking milage and this one always glitches.   The Mileage settings under the category Battery optimization always has a red "!" tried all the trouble shooting and it hasn't worked.  I had an iPhone and I didn't have these issues but I thought I upgraded with a Galaxy Note 9 and it worked for a short time.  Now it doesn't.  Need help with Galaxy Note 9 Samsung...???

  5. Enure that the auto-mileage tracking feature in QuickBooks Self-Employed is enabled.
