I'm here to share information about what happened to your 30-day trial version of QuickBooks Desktop 2022.
QBDT 2022 has a 30-day trial period. If you don't want to renew, you can still access the file even if you do not restore your subscription. But you'll be unable to continue receiving the security updates and online services, such as the following:
It only means that you can only use the software for manual tracking and keeping your company data. Here's an article you can read for more insights: QuickBooks Desktop service discontinuation policy and upgrade information.
Additionally, to ensure you'll enjoy all the benefits and services that QuickBooks offers, you might want to upgrade to the newest version.

Your trial version will be expired. You will need a workaround to use it for good. Contact me in private for details.

I just want to make sure I have this right.
You say: "QBDT 2022 has a 30-day trial period."
I currently have QBDT Pro Plus 2022 (Subscription)
When you say: "If you don't want to renew, you can still access the file even if you do not restore your subscription. But you'll be unable to continue receiving the security updates and online services..."
Question: Are you describing QB DT Pro Plus 2022 (Subscription), or something else?
Thanks.

Thank you for coming back to the thread, Bob.
Allow me to jump in and offer some clarification regarding the points you raised in my colleague's response.
There's always a free trial available for QuickBooks Desktop for Windows, which is the QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise product, and it's the most recent version released for the current year.
With each passing year, a new version is introduced, ensuring that the free trial grants access to the most up-to-date features and functionalities. However, we went one version ahead at this time of this year already, so the available is QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise 24.0, and not version 2023. For more information and to download the software, please refer to this article: Download a trial of QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise.
On the other hand, the purpose of the free trial is to allow potential users to experience the software firsthand and evaluate its features, functionalities, and suitability for their specific needs. It provides an opportunity to explore the capabilities of QuickBooks Desktop and determine if it is the right accounting solution for their business.
Existing QuickBooks Desktop users can also use the trial version to access their files once their subscription has expired. During given period, you can enjoy the same features as the paid version. However, it's important to note that once it ends, you will need to purchase a paid version in order to continue working on your files.
If you're interested, you can download and install the trial version of QuickBooks Desktop and restore your backup file created in version 2022. However, there's an important consideration when transitioning your file to the Enterprise edition. While you can upgrade Pro and Premier company files to Enterprise Solutions (ES), it is not possible to open ES company files in Pro or Premier. For more detailed information, please refer to the article Company file compatibility with QuickBooks Desktop when upgrading. Please read the contents in the second table.
