How do I reinstall quickbooks 2015 after I had to restore my computer to original factory settings, and now I can't find my QB software?

QuickBooks support Mac versions 2017 and up. You can still download and install the software but some of the add-on services, and online updates are discontinued. Let me walk you through how you can download.

1. Prepare your license and product number.
2. Then, download and install QuickBooks for Mac.
3. Open your company file on the newly installed program.

Since we don't have the download link available for the Canadian edition of the 2015 QuickBooks Desktop, there are a few options you can consider. The first is seeing if you have the original install disc or the original install file on your computer. Using either of these options, you can install QuickBooks Desktop 2015 on your current computer again or on a new workstation. Once you get it set up, you can connect with a member of our support team for the validation/activation code.

Your other option is to upgrade to the newest edition of QuickBooks Desktop and then upgrading your company file to use that version. My accountant use Quickbooks 2015, and I use Quickbooks 2021. Accountant does not want to change because of other clients.  I don’t think I can revert the 2021data to 2015, can I?

I'll make sure to provide a few details about opening a file from QuickBooks 2021 to QuickBooks 2015. 

Once you've opened a company file using a particular version on QuickBooks, you cannot open it using an older version. However, if you created a backup of the company file before upgrading it, you can import previous accounting data into the older version of this software.

Let me guide you on how to restore data from a backup file.

Note: If your backup company file is on an external device like a USB or a hosting service like Box, make sure to move its file to the local hard drive to avoid errors.

1. In your QuickBooks Desktop.
2.  Go to the File menu at the top
3. Select Open or Restore Company.
4. Select Restore a backup copy and then Next.
5. Select Local Backup and then click Next.
6. Click on Browse and select the backup file. It should look like this: [Your company name].qbb.
7. Select a folder to save your restored company file. Then select Open.
8. When you're ready, click Save.

You can purchase a 3rd party rollback service from QBD 2021 to QBD 2015. But I would recommend you purchase a one time license of QBD 2021 Pro 1 user for your accountant worth $400.
