Convert your data file on trial license of QB Mac 2019 prior migrating to QB Online. QB Mac 2020 only supports MacOS 10.14 and 10.15.
Hello,
The original instructions I saw online I believe indicated that Quickbooks was compatible with MacOS 10.13.6. Do you have any QB that is compatible with 10.13.6? Is that QB Mac 2019?
And perhaps you can help me so I can understand if what I am doing is possible:
My old computer OSX El Capitan 10.11.16 is running QB 2012.
My new computer is running MAC OS High Sierra 10.13.6. My goal is to use this new computer to run a new version of Quickbooks, then take the old data from my QB 2012 and migrate it over to the new version of QB. Will I be able to do this?
Thanks
Sandra
I appreciate the details a lot, @sandra29.
You should download first the QuickBooks Desktop 2020 trial version and install it on a Windows 10 desktop to follow the system requirements instead of using your new MAC OS High Sierra 10.13.6.
This will be the scenario. QuickBooks for Mac 2012 isn't compatible with the system requirements in QuickBooks Desktop(QBDT) 2020 trial version. You'll need to download first the QuickBooks Desktop for Mac 2020 trial version to draw over the QBDT for mac 2012 company file.
Once the file is restored in QBDT for Mac 2020 trial version, the version will be now meet the system requirement in QBDT for Windows 2020.
First, make a back-up of your company file from your QBDT for Mac 2012. Second, download the QBDT for Mac 2020 free trial to restore the company from your QuickBooks for Mac 2012 to QuickBooks for Mac 2020 trial version.
Third, once you have the company file ready from your QuickBooks for Mac 2020, make sure to back-up the company file so that we can restore it in QBDT 2020 for Windows trial version. Also, make sure that you install the trial version to a Windows 10 OS.
Once done, you're can now move your QBDT file to QuickBooks Online.
You can refer to this article for the latest trial versions in QuickBooks for Windows and Mac: Download a trial of QuickBooks Desktop.
