Hi there, @okbrickworks.
There are times that the data in your browser is outdated which needs to be cleared to avoid having this error. To isolate this error, I suggest using an incognito browser to check if this is a browser-relate issue.
Once you have successfully created your expense transaction, you can go back to your regular browser and clear it's cache. This is done to speed up the process next time you want to create a transaction in QuickBooks Online. Also, an alternative way is to use another browser.
Here are the keyboard shortcut keys to access an incognito browser:
For future reference, you can check this out if you want to run and save a monthly expense report by vendor.
Loop me in if you need anything else. I'll be here to help. Take care.
I tried a different browser on a completely different PC. Same problem.

I've inputting my sales for the month but its not actually showing on my dashboard then all a sudden today it's telling me that 'Something's not right'
I really don't understand again
please i'll love your help
Thanks for posting here, @tobiknight. I'm here to provide steps so you can seamlessly input your sales in QuickBooks Online (QBO).
We can perform some troubleshooting steps to get rid of the error. Let's start with accessing your QBO account using an incognito mode. This doesn't store cache or browser history that sometimes causes issues when accessing the program.
Below are the shortcut keys you can use to open a private mode depending on your browser type:
When signed in, input your sales transactions again. If this works, you'll have to go back to your regular browser and clear the cache. This will help remove damaged or corrupted files and will give you a clean slate. If not, you might need to use another supported browser as alternatives.
However, if the issue persists, I suggest reaching out to our Customer Care team to further investigate the root cause of the error. To do so, please visit this link for the detailed guide: QuickBooks Online Support. It also contains the exact time when our support team will be available.
You can also go to the Sales page in QBO to monitor your sales transactions. From there, you'll see those open and recently paid invoices, estimates, time activities, charges, or costs.
I'm just a post away to help if you need additional assistance getting rid of the error you get when inputting sales in QBO. Feel free to leave a comment below. Have a good one.
Unbelievable. I just started with QuickBooks and I can't even get my accounts added because of this error. I've exhausted every known solution available.....every browser, Firefox, Chrome, Safari, Explorer, deleted cache, cookies, history, used incognito, private browsing. I'm so disappointed with this thing. What a colossal waste of time. Now I'm forced to waste more time by adding this to a community. Next step is to waste more time contacting support. I'm glad this is happening in my first month because I have no problem cancelling my subscripting and trying another provider.
Very disappointed.
Did you ever resolve it or find an solution? I am getting the same error as everyone else. I have tried it on Firefox, Edge, Chrome, and Safari all on different devices, have tried clearing my cache, and have tried it in an private browser on each. Nothing seems to work.
Did you ever find an solution to this problem? I have tried everything suggested and nothing has worked.

I'm receiving the error when trying to view downloaded transactions on a specific account. I know it's not the bank connection because I can view and change transactions for a different account at that bank. And I can see that there are new transactions that have downloaded. I just can't see them when I select the account. I have tried to view the transactions in Safari, Chrome, and on my iPhone using the Quickbooks app. I receive the error on all applications.
same issue as previous posted, "Something’s not quite right, Sorry, an unexpected error has occurred. Please try again." I'm receiving the error when trying to view downloaded transactions on a bank account. I can see that there are new transactions that have downloaded but they will not load. I have tried to view the transactions in Chrome and the QBO desktop app and I receive the error on all applications.
Thanks for joining the Community and getting involved with this thread, zoezoe12. I appreciate your detailed information.
Since you're encountering a "Something’s not quite right, Sorry, an unexpected error has occurred. Please try again." message and pages aren't loading properly, I'd recommend checking your browser. It's possible this could have something to do with temporary internet files. Browsing applications store these types of records, but sometimes they can cause issues with certain webpages. You can open a private window and check to see if you're able to see the downloaded transactions.
Here's how to access incognito mode in some of the most commonly used web browsers:
If you're able to see your transactions while browsing privately, it's safe to say this problem's being caused by your browser. It can be fixed by clearing cached data and Intuit-specific cookies.
In the event screens continue not loading properly while browsing in incognito mode, you'll initially want to try switching to another browsing application.
Here's a list of supported browsers
You can also check a browser's compatibility with QuickBooks by utilizing our browser health checkup tool. QuickBooks supports the current and two previous versions of browsers. If you find that you're using an unsupported version, make sure to update it to its latest release. Steps for doing so can be found on the particular company's website.
In the event you've found no problems that could be causing this with your browser, you'll want to check the operating system and internet speed you're working with.
Here's our recommended operating systems and internet speeds:
If you meet all of our system requirements, but are still encountering pages that aren't loading properly, I'd recommend using a different device and/or internet connection. If it continues happening on other devices and/or internet connections, you'll want to get in touch with our Customer Care team. They'll be able to pull up the account in a secure environment, conduct further research, and create an investigation ticket if necessary.
They can be reached while you're signed in.
Here's how:
Be sure to review their support hours so you'll know when agents are available.
I've also included a detailed resource about system requirements for QuickBooks which may come in handy moving forward: System requirements
I'll be here to help if there's any questions. Have a lovely day!
The problem is missing info that is needed to complete the transaction i.e. a business number or address make sure all of your company info and tax rates are set up correctly, I had this same problem with payroll and it was because one employees DOB was missing.

I keep getting the same error when I log in to QB desktop. Then when I go to the Employee Center, it kicks me out. Does anyone know how to fix this. I called QB and they want me to send them my file and they will fix and send it back to me but I will be unable to use for about 6 days when they get the file back to me. This is a mess.
Following, I'm having the same issue.
Let's fix the error message you're getting so you can proceed with your tasks, Ig22 and Hannah.
I want you to know that being kicked out from accessing the Employee Center in QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) can be caused by user restrictions or damaged data within your file. To isolate the issue, I recommend closing and opening QuickBooks again as a master admin. Then, go to the Employee Center to narrow down the result.
If the error continues, you can perform some troubleshooting steps to repair possible data damage. Here are the following:
I'm also adding these articles for your guide on each solution stated:
From there, you can start working with your employees and payroll entries.
However, if you're getting the same result, I suggest contacting our QBDT Support to check your accounts securely and investigate this issue further. Support is open M-F from 6 AM to 6 PM.
If you have follow-up questions while working with QuickBooks or managing your employees, let me know by leaving a comment below. I'm more than happy to help you again. Have a good one!
Posting because I see that people have been having this problem for years with no help from the QBO team.
I was having the same issue: on one specific account on the Bank Transactions page, I got the message: "Something’s not quite right. Sorry, an unexpected error has occurred. Please try again." QBO would show me there were two uncategorized transactions but wouldn't show what they were. I tried multiple browsers and devices, and even removed the account and re-added it. The problem persisted.
Solution: The transactions did show up on the mobile app (iOS). I tried to just "confirm" them as they are standard monthly recurring transactions, and the older of the two said "error" when I tried to confirm it. This led me to suspect that this specific transaction was the root of the problem, so I simply deleted it. Then I went back to the desktop and everything was back to normal. Subsequent new transactions are showing up correctly.
I don't have the technical knowledge to explain why a monthly recurring transaction that hasn't changed in three years is causing QBO problems all of a sudden, but in my case at least, this error was caused by one single transaction. We'll see if next month's baffles QBO again.
Thank you to everyone that has shared. I am an employee and I am attempting to update the withholding on my W4. I receive the SOMETHING IS NOT QUITE RIGHT message after signing the changes made. I've tried multiple computers, my phone, different browsers and iproivate browsing. My wife works for the same company and is receiving the same message. I plan to reach out to the company. Any advice? Thank you.
