Hi there, Chrissy.

To get the validation code for your QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT), you'll need to contact our Live Support team. They can securely provide the validation code after verifying your product details.

Here's how to reach them:

  1. Open QuickBooks Desktop.
  2. Go to the Help menu, then select QuickBooks Desktop Help or Contact Us. This will open the Help window. Alternatively, you can also press F1 on your keyboard to open the Help window.
  3. In the Help window, use the Search questions, keywords, or topics field to enter your question or topic.
  4. Select Contact Us to get connected with an expert. From there, you can choose between getting a callback or chatting with one of our representatives.

Consider to purchase a newer version with a non subscription license (2019-2021) to upgrade your version.

Thank you for reaching out to the QuickBooks Community page, Robert1994.

The issue with your QuickBooks Desktop 2018 validation code may result from several factors, such as an incorrect License Number or Product Code, inaccurate system date and time settings, or other software-related issues.

It's also important to note that support for QuickBooks Desktop 2018 ended on May 31, 2021. As a result, an activation problem may occur as older versions of the software may no longer be compatible with Intuit’s servers.

To address this issue, here are a few steps we can take:

  1. Verify Your License and Product Information:
    • Double-check your purchase confirmation email or the sticker on your QuickBooks installation CD case for the correct license and product details.
    • If you purchased the software directly from Intuit, log in to the Customer Account Management Portal (CAMPS) to confirm your details.
  2. Confirm Date and Time Settings:
    • Ensure your computer's date, time, and time zone are correct, as inconsistencies can interfere with the software’s activation process.
  3. Reset the License State:
    • You can reset the license state in QuickBooks Desktop to resolve activation issues.

For detailed steps, refer to this guide: Fix Activation, License, and Product Number Issues.

If the issue persists after trying these steps, we suggest upgrading to a supported version of QuickBooks. Using an updated version ensures access to continued functionality, security updates, and customer support.
