I am trying to install a trial Quickbook 2020 Desktop. It downloads fine but when I tried to install it tells me I do not have enough this space on C: however on my C drive I have 120 GB Used space and 810 GB of free space which should be more than enough as the program only needs 2

It could be that the free space wasn't recognized by the installer. There are times that unexpected error message would prompt us like saying we don’t have enough system memory to install QuickBooks.

Hello there, @CarmenB.
QuickBooks 2020 allows all editions for Windows 10, including the 64-bit. That said, upgrading your operating system to Windows 10 Pro has a similar experience to the current system you're using.
Also, when downloading QuickBooks, you need to consider its system requirements and make sure your computer is meeting the needed operating system.
To learn how to install QuickBooks Desktop, you can follow the detailed steps in this article: Install QuickBooks Desktop.

I appreciate the response. My problem is the software only requires 2GB for installation and my system has 810 GB in free space. I shouldn't be getting an error message of not enough this space. What could because the problem when you have enough GB.

I really appreciate the help you're trying to give me. I did what you said and in the folder which is named Pro_us30R6 it is empty. When I attempt to install it starts extricating files and when it gets to "package integrity" is when I get the not enough disk space. It's so confusing because I have 810 GB free space on my hard drive.
I appreciate you for keeping me update about this concern, @CarmenB.
When installing a program on your computer first thing we need to check is ensure the computer meets or exceeds the minimum system requirements for QuickBooks Desktop.
Since you're still not able to install the software even if the hard drive has enough memory (810 GB), I'd recommend contacting our Customer Care Team. They have additional tools, such as screen sharing, to look up the computer and software for possible reasons behind this issue.

Why is the original post marked as resolved? It was not resolved. The person could not perform the installation. The proposed resolution did not work (installation folder empty - framework.xml doesn't exist). And I'm having the same exact problem attempting to upgrade to QB Desktop 2023. At about 30% of installation I get a message that says I don't have enough disk space on the C: drive to extract a file. ???? I have 380Gb free disk space!
And let me comment on the QB default in the framework.xml file. Default is 1000Gb free space required? What kind of nonsense is that? My system C: drive itself is only 1000Gb !
I can't believe after two years this issue hasn't been resolved. Isn't Intuit a >$1B profit company?
It's not the kind of impression we want you to feel, @Gubbs.
If you performed the steps above and still received the same error, I recommend getting in touch with our installation team. They can pull up your account securely and help install QuickBooks successfully.

Let me know if you have other questions. I'm always here to help.
I'm having the same issue. I don't have enough room to extract the install files, but I do have the room. I can't get any install files. The folder is empty as the extraction doesn't work.
Facing the same problem isn't what I want you to experience this difficulty extracting the install files even though you have enough room available, stereowarehouseaccounting.
There might be some other underlying issue preventing you from obtaining the installation files. Let's make sure the computer meets system requirements to ensure your operating system version is compatible with the software. This ensures a smooth, stable, and secure experience while using the software.
If the issue persists, I suggest contacting QuickBooks support for further assistance. They can provide you with specific steps to resolve the issue or escalate this to their technical team for further investigation.

This issue is truly unacceptable. QB makes you update and then their download software does not work. I am having the same issues. I have enough space. Then they give directions that don't work. Now I am on hold for an hour. Really. How much did I pay them this year. I am tired of hearing that I need to check my system requirements. Really. I now have to pay an IT guy to assist me with your messed up software. No I am not going to your on line QB as it is horrible to work with.
