Error 108 occurs if there are changes on your bank that needs your action. Since you've already checked your bank notifications, let's do the manual update. This helps refresh the connection between your bank's website and QuickBooks. 

  1. Go to the Banking page.
  2. Click the Update button.

If you get the same result, we can try using the private browser or other supported browsers. 

 

Here are the keyboard shortcuts:

  • Chrome: Press Ctrl + Shift + N
  • Mozilla Firefox: Press Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Internet Explorer: Press Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Safari: Press Command + Shift +

I had this same error when trying to add an account with TD Ameritrade.  I have no messages on the TD Site.  I called phone support for both TD Ameritrade and Mint and cannot resolve the issue.

Same here, I have wasted countless hours on this issue and they cannot resolve it, in my case it happens on paypal. No email, no message, no agreement update, the account works too as it was tested. They just cant get approval on the connection on their end and made an end all be all 108 error that obviously does not cover all the issues they face.

More of this and I will have to move to competition, we cannot be wasting this many hours with support. They closed my first ticket without resolution, how much time am I supposed to waste on this?

No, this is not an error on your banks end. It is an error on quick books end. You need to update your systems to be compatible with the majority of banks browsers. It’s caused by the banks updating to a newer program and quick books hasn’t yet, so the interaction between the two websites while trying to link your bank isn’t possible. We pay to be able to use this service, and quick books is useless unless it is corrected immediately. Some of us have THOUSANDS of dollars that we can’t transfer to our banks and intuit is costing us even more!

If you see an Error 108 message, it means there's a message from your bank or credit card on their website.

 

These bank messages are commonly about:
 

  • New offers
  • New terms of service
  • Announcements about maintenance or other website changes

 

Messages, especially ones about updates, can sometimes block Intuit's connection with a financial institution.

 

Here's how to address the error:
 

  1. Sign in to your bank or credit card's website. You should be using the same credentials you used to connect the account to QuickBooks. If you use something different, disconnect your account first, then use the credentials for your bank's site to reconnect it.
  2. Check for any updates,  messages, or notifications.
  3. If you find any, take the necessary action(s) to complete them. The specific message(s) should give you detailed steps. In the event you have any questions about a particular message, or don't see any while encountering Error 108, I'd recommend getting in touch with your financial institution's support team.

 

You'll also want to be aware that if you don't see any notifications or messages on their site after signing in, you may need to turn off your pop-up blocker, if you're using one. After you've reviewed and addressed any messages on the bank's side of things, you can proceed with updating your bank connections:
 

  1. In the left navigation bar, go to Transactions, then Bank transactions.
  2. Select Update.

 

If the issue persists, Intuit recommends trying to see if you encounter the same Error 108 message when using an incognito browsing session. In the event it continues occurring in a private window, you can perform some of our other browser troubleshooting processes.

 

If it continues after performing each of our recommended troubleshooting steps, you'll want to get in touch with our Customer Care team. They'll be able to pull up your account in a secure environment, conduct further research with you, and create an investigation ticket if necessary.
