Major import errors

My transactions that are sync'd with USAA have major errors. There are duplicate transactions, and some are imported as debits that should be credits. It's horrible. I've been unable to sync these USAA accounts for months and now that I've sync'd I'm having to comb through each transaction to find the errors and exclude the duplicates as well as create new transactions that are correct! I don't trust the data at all! Is there a way to do a clean upload of new data?

Major import errors

Hello there, @jodicarlton3.

I'd like to share some information about handling bank transactions in QuickBooks Self-Employed (QBSE).

QuickBooks depends on transactions imported from your bank. If these bank data are something that should need to correct, you can contact the USAA to make sure you'll be getting the right transactions in the system.

However, since you're experiencing issues, I'd recommend logging in to your account using an incognito window to isolate the problem. These browsers won't collect any cache and cookies.

Here are the shortcut keys:

  • Google Chrome: Ctrl + Shift + N
  • Safari 11 or newer: ⌘ + Shift + N
  • Mozilla Firefox: Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Microsoft Edge: Ctrl + Shift + P

Once logged in, review your bank transactions (double-check if you're still seeing duplicate transactions, incorrect data, or receiving the same error messages). If it works fine, you can clear the cache. Also, you can use other supported browsers.

If the same thing happens, ensure your USAA account is only connected to QuickBooks Self-Employed once. If it's connected twice, you'll have to hide the other one of the accounts. This stops QuickBooks from downloading new transactions from the second connection. Here's how:

  1. Select the profile ⚙ icon.
  2. Select Bank Accounts.
  3. Make sure your bank or credit card account is connected once.
  4. If there's a duplicate, select the toggle to OFF in the Show account column.

I've collected some articles to learn about managing transactions in QBSE:

I'd also like to know the specific errors you received. This way, I can check more resources to address your concern right away. Let me know how it works, jodicarlton3. Stay safe.
