NEVER put an "alien" source in your trusted list, especially in a secure environment such as your QuickBooks financial program; otherwise, your system can be susceptible to a Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) Attack. In other words, the JS or HTML file being referenced could contain malicious or data-extracting code.
The steps below will show you how to customize the Internet Explorer browser to BLOCK optimizely DOT COM and to effectively remove script errors from that source:
Hello!
Were you ever able to locate a solution to this error? I'm getting basically the same error, but can't seem to find a resolution:
https://cdn.optimizely.com/js/[removed].js
Thank you in advance!!
Hello there, cb4040.
I've checked for similar reported issues in our list and didn't find any. You can continually check OK from the prompt to get rid of it. I also suggest to configure your Internet Explorer as one of the troubleshooting steps. Please refer to this article for more details: Set Internet Explorer to be your default browser.

Hello All,
I own a copy of QuickBooks Enterprise 16 and have faced the same frustrations as you. I do NOT work for Intuit. The following has worked for me:
In QuickBooks on the menu bar click HELP>Internet Connection Setup>Next>Advanced Connection Setting>Security (tab)>Restricted Sites>Sites. In the "Add this website to the zone:" paste or type just this part of the url address the error message is complaining about, such as cdn.optimizely.com, as an example. Click Add>Close>OK>Done.
Logoff QuickBooks and then log back in. The script error message will no longer appear.
This can be used for all script error messages when opening QuickBooks. I have encountered several. They all seem to be connected to "User Experience Enhancement" (aka User Tracking) that are not functioning correctly. Blocking them does not affect the software....other than to block some pop-up ads Intuit may try to send.
You can answer YES or NO to get past the script error message if you are not bothered by it and do not want to take the above action. It does not affect QuickBooks one way or the other.
Exactly, never ALLOW, always BLOCK. See my original step-by-step.
I recommend that you always BLOCK and send these out-of-date content delivery networks (CDNs) to the restricted list.
Technically, if you allow the "defunct" CDN address, you could get a cross-attack if a malicious force takes over that CDN address and injects bad code, like data-stealing code, virus, etc.
This not only affects Quickbooks but other Intuit programs like Lacerte, etc.
Have QBooks 2020 using win 8.1... Script errors and nothing works . Spent over 4 hrs going thru steps with QB tech last week. They finally said they think win 8.1 does not support a higher level of dot net needed .
Using a win10 PC all works fine and ccard processing is normal as it prev was with my win 8.1 PCwhen using QBooks 2017. Are you aware that apparently QB2020 and merchant processing are incompatible with win 8.1. I need to use main machine for QB2020 that is win 8.1 but can not now . Using the laptop win10 machine is not an option. Win 8.1 machine can not support win 10 upgrade. Requires a new PC.
Any suggestion. BTW QB was called to confirm win8.1 is compatible b4 we purchased and they said yes. All other processing works ok but doing merchant processing never works and script errors. I can not even sign into merchant center using win 8.1 qbooks. I am really thinking it is some much more basic to allow win 8.1 and merch svcs to work with qb2020.
