I keep seeing "Export your Quicken data to a file in .csv format", but there is no obvious way to do that from Quicken; CSV is not one of the export format choices.  I started the Trial for QBOL, but can't see an obvious way to get my Quicken Data into it.

What exact reports do you export from Quicken? I can't find any guidance on that.

Thanks for joining us here, @mrmatheny.

I'll share some information about importing Quicken reports. Since Quicken is a third-party program for personal accounting and budgeting when you export you're not just exporting a specific report but your Quicken data. This way, you won't need to start over.

Here are the Quicken data that you need to export:

  • Report Data
  • Financial Data
  • Copy Quicken transactions

Once you're done, all you have to do is import the file into QuickBooks. Here's how:

  1. Sign in to QuickBooks.
  2. Go to Gear then select Import Data.
  3. Choose the type of list that you want to import.
  4. Then, Browse. Find the .csv file, then tap Open.
  5. Tick Next. The Map data page appears. There’s a green checkmark on the fields that QuickBooks recognizes. Otherwise, you’ll see No Match.
  6. Use the dropdown menus to map the fields. Then, Next. Review all the entries that you’ll import.
  7. Click Import.

For details about transferring the file, check out this guide: Move your Quicken data to QuickBooks Online.

I'm also attaching this link here to help you along: Your First Hour with QuickBooks Online.

Keep me posted if you still have questions or concerns with Quicken and QuickBooks files. I'm more than happy to assist you. Take care and have a nice day ahead.

Quicken is single entry. How can that data be imported into Quickbooks double entry (journal) system?

How do I transfer Quicken data to Quickbooks Online

I had a QuickBooks bookkeeper attempt to do this. She downloaded all of my information from 5 separate accounts into one QB account and then attempted to sort and filter it. It turned out to be a big Fiasco and I'm hoping to be able to talk to someone who can help me discern the proper path for this task?

Can you help me with this and let me know if there is a simpler approach than what I'm experiencing. I'm certain there must be somewhere?

Do you need to merge data from 5 separate QBO accounts into just one QBO account? or else?
