There is no need for your bank connect tab if you want to enter it manually. It's easy to do.
Here is how to add banking transactions in QuickBooks Online. You've got a few options but the simple one is to use the Bank Register (aka Check Register) in QBO.
Here's how:
First, add a new bank account from the Chart of Accounts.
(From the left dashboard, select Accounting > Chart of Accounts > New
Account Type = Bank
Detail Type = Select one from the list
Name = Name of the bank
Save.
Now, you're ready to use the Bank Register and add transactions manually in the register.
(From the left dashboard > Accounting > Chart of Accounts page).
Select Bank account in question and click View Register under Action column.
Add transaction, all you have to do is select transaction type from the drop-arrow under the DATE column. The payment column is for entering expenses. The deposit column is for entering bank deposits. It should be simple and easy.
Hope this helps!

In addition to @vpcontroller answer, let’s go to the Chart of Accounts and then manually enter your bank transactions to bypass the export process.

Would there be any issue in recording bank transactions with a journal entry instead? Would like cause any type of disconnect from other parts of QBO (i.e. reconciliations)?

Hello there, vhinds.
There's be no disconnections when we create a journal entry. Let's just make sure to use the correct account to post the transactions. I suggest consulting an accountant so that you don't mess up your books.

Hi I keep reading this View Register / Bank Register term in all solutions for manual entering Bank transactions but cannot find this View Register in QBO. All I have if I follow the path: Accounting>Chart of Accounts>All Lists come up but all of them have "Account History" on far end of the respective account under ACTIONS. Where is this "View Register' option. Tks
Hi Hom!
The View Register is an option to click when you want to open a balance sheet account in the Chart of Accounts. That's what you want to click when you enter transactions within the register. If you don't see it, you can just double-click the account to open and enter transactions to it.
If you're not a Master Admin user, you can ask the Master Admin to modify your access to view transactions in the register.
