This isn't the kind of service we want you to have, @receptivetc.

I understand how important it is for you to clear out your task for 1099 before the end of the year. Know that you're not alone. I've also found QB users who encountered the same issue with printing their 1099 forms.

Don't worry, Intuit is working on for the forms to be available in QuickBooks Desktop.

Currently, the 2022 version print form of 1099 NEC is unavailable. What we have now in the program is still in the 2021 form. We'll be disseminating emails or sending out alerts when it will be available.

We appreciate your understanding on this one.

Thanks for the reply. We have the standard 1099 NEC (3/page) forms. That is not the issue. The issue is only that upon doing a preview or a printout - despite the 1099 NECs being for 2022 - the date on the QB printout defaults to 2021. The question remains- how to correct it to be 2022. Was thinking to print the 1099 NECs and simply cross out the "2021" and add in 2022 by pen. I can't imagine that QB does not have an easy fix for this- Thanks

Hi, I have just printed out 1099's and realized that the spot where the year would go is blank.  It does not say 21 or 22, it is just blank.  I'm using QB Accountant Desktop 2022 for Windows.  Any ideas?

Let me help you process the 1099 form with the correct data, @AngieCB.

Let's download and install the latest payroll update so you can process payroll forms in QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) Payroll.

QBDT Payroll provides payroll updates that include the most current and accurate rates and calculations for supported state and federal tax tables, payroll tax forms, and e-file and pay options. This includes 1099s that will populate this box with the full year, 2022.   You may have the outdated payroll tax table. That's why your printed form's year are not updated.

Before doing so, please make sure you have an active QuickBooks Payroll subscription and an updated QuickBooks release version. To get the latest payroll tax table update, here's how:

  1. Go to Employees.
  2. Select Get Payroll Updates.
  3. Click the Download entire payroll update button.
  4. Select Update or Download Latest Update. An informational window appears when the download is complete.

The date in the box on a pre-printed form will have extra numbers, such as 202022. It's okay, you can print and file your forms as usual.

I've also included some links to aid you with printing the tax forms:

Let me know if you have other payroll concerns or questions about filing forms QBDT. I'm always ready to help. Take care, and I wish you and your business continued success,

Hi there,

Thank you for the response.  I did the update as you directed but it still leaves that field blank.  For the time being I am going to hand write the date in but would love to get this resolved.  Thanks for any further information you can provide.
