1099s accepted by IRS. How does contractor see their form? Can I also see their forms?

Hello @tbigelow1!  I'm happy you reached back out so we can clarify this further for you.

You'll receive an email when your 1099-MISC is ready for download once your employer or client submits it to the IRS. To sign in to QuickBooks Self-Employed, click the link in the email.

You may access or print your 1099-MISC by logging into QuickBooks Self-Employed. Here’s how:

  1. Sign in to QuickBooks Self-Employed.
  2. Go to the Clients menu.
  3. Choose the Forms tab.

Please note that it is the employer or customer's obligation to provide you with your 1099-MISC. If you don't want to set up a QuickBooks Self-Employed account, you can request a copy from them.

I'm also attaching this article for more information on filing in QuickBooks Self Employed, and other useful information: Fill out a W-9 and view your 1099-MISC in QuickBooks Self-Employed.

Please respond to this post if you have any additional questions or are using a different product. We're all eager to assist you in locating the information you require!

The IRS online tool to request wage and income transcripts also lets you get the information that was reported on your W-2, 1099 and other forms for previous years. You can request a lost W-2 for any one of the last 10 tax years.
