Buy nowUpon signing into my QB 2018 desktop pro, I am asked to sign into my Intuit account. I have the choice to either select admin or non-admin (neither get me further in the process). Once I click admin and enter my credentials, the next screen is the 4 dots that rotate. They'll do that for hours and won't continue to the next step. Eventually, I close QB and select the option to delay signing in for a period of time. What happens if I never do because of this glitch?
If you can't sign in to your Intuit Account, you'll lose access to associated services like Payments, Payroll (Direct Deposit and Workforce), and more, Sonja. Below are the troubleshooting steps you can take to successfully log in to your Intuit account.
First, ensure you have an active internet connection to log in to your Intuit account. If your connection is stable, use the QuickBooks Tool Hub, which helps resolve common QuickBooks Desktop issues. Here’s how:

If the issue persists after you've followed the steps above, you can proceed to Solution 2 and other solutions in this article: QuickBooks Desktop won't open.
Once you have successfully accessed your Intuit account, it's a wise security practice to regularly update or modify your sign-in information. Regular updates to your login credentials help safeguard your account from unauthorized access and potential security breaches.
I'm looking forward to your reply if you need additional assistance accessing your Intuit account. Rest assured, I'll respond promptly and am always willing to lend a hand.
@Jessavell_A "If you can't sign in to your Intuit Account, you'll lose access to associated services like Payments, Payroll (Direct Deposit and Workforce), and more, Sonja."
@SonjaMY has QuickBooks 2018.
I think we're a little past that being a going concern. Frankly, I'm a little surprised it's even asking them to sign in.
At any rate, if memory serves, 2018 falls into the 'standalone product' category. About the only downside to not being able to sign in is that it'll keep annoying you to do so every so often.
The only thing I need QB for is to reconcile my books and make an accountant copy when it's time for taxes. I don't have employees so I don't need to extra features. I'm a super small business and QB desperately wants to force me to upgrade and pay for their subscription. I abhor forced subscription services, it's theft in my opinion.
I'll try downloading the tool and report back.
Cant get on QB
Good morning, @rlod51.
Thanks for hopping on this thread. Let's work together so that you're able to get into your QB account properly.
Before moving forward, are you receiving an error message when trying to log in?
Any additional details that you have about the issue will help us determine the next steps you need to take. In the meantime, you can review this guide about QuickBooks Desktop not opening.
I want to ensure that you get this taken care of as soon as possible. I'll be waiting for your response!
What QB Desktop year version?
I also have QB 2018 desktop. I tried the QB tool hub but I still can't get into my Intuit Account from QB. I need to be able to email out invoices for 10 people in an HOA. No payroll or anything complicated. What do I do????? We dont want to do QB online for such a small bookkeeping task.
Did you reinstall your QB Desktop 2018 program?
Hello, @katiebelle.
I understand how important it is for you to access your Intuit account from QuickBooks Desktop and email out those invoices. I also appreciate the steps you've taken to resolve this and get everything back on track.
Please note that QBDT 2018 has been discontinued, and as a result, it no longer receives updates, which may cause sign-in and email issues.
To ensure you receive ongoing support and access to the latest features, I recommend upgrading to the latest version of QuickBooks. This will facilitate a smoother registration process and ensure you receive regular updates.
Let us know if you have further questions, and we'll be right here to help you anytime.
Yes I reinstalled and it still will not let me sign into intuit. I realized it is QB 2019.
I also cannot sign in to my intuit account from Quickbooks desktop 2019. I also cannot email invoices to our customers without signing into my Intuit account but the blue dots just keep circling after I put in my User ID. I don't need the payroll, timesheets, or any of those options. I have run the Tool hub "Quick Fix My Program" multiple times. Restarted my computer multiple times, nothing helps.
Hello there, Anniepenner.
I understand that accessing your Intuit account from QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) and emailing invoices is very important for you. I appreciate your efforts to resolve this matter, but I want to share some details regarding this concern.
Since your QBDT 2019 was discontinued after May 31, 2022, you can still use the program for recording purposes. However, updates and online services, such as sending invoices, are no longer available.
For more details about the discontinuation policy, you can check out this article: QuickBooks Desktop service discontinuation policy and upgrade information.
As my colleague recommended above, to ensure ongoing support and access to the latest features, you can upgrade to a newer version of QBDT. This upgrade will provide you with the latest security updates, features, and services to help you manage your business more efficiently.
If you require additional help, please revisit this thread. We are always here to assist you.
I disconnect from the office network, log into QB21, and then reconnect to the network. This stops the request to log into an intuit account.
Use the trial version of QB Desktop 2021 or later to isolate the problem. Did you encounter the same problem?
