Chase QBO Webconnect download problem

I get the same message "Nothing to import.  The account is up to date", yet none of my transactions come through.

 WHAT I DID:

Logged into my chase account.  Clicked download arrow.

Under file Type I chose - Spreadsheet Excel (instead of QBO).

Under Activity I chose - the date range or statement I needed to download; then Downloaded it.

I then called my accountant and asked her if she could transfer my Excel entries onto my quickbooks since the accountant version has that option and we don't.

If I had QB for windows she could have.  She could have transferred the Excel entries by "column" (not individually!!) so it is much faster than you think as there are probably just 4 or 5 columns.

Well, I have MAC.  So, this is what my amazing accountant did for me:

She had me go into my excel file that I downloaded from Chase.  She told me I could sort the list by category, and then just enter the TOTAL for that category once for the entire month.  So I will have 1 fuel charge instead of 50, but that works for me.  The only charges I need to individually enter are my INVENTORY.  I will get to that.

The last column on the excel download said memo, which is the column I used to label my entries. (You can use the category column if you prefer. It doesn't matter.)

I then typed my "category name"  in the "memo" column, naming each as I would in my QB (fuel, meals, office supplies, utilities, contributions, etc.. and INVENTORY) Yours will be different, but you get the jest.  Yes, labeling each entry with one of my category names takes a little time, but it is quicker and safer than manually entering ALL charges and vendors names!

I now needed to sort and total out these entries by the "category name".

I am not proficient in excel so I emailed this excel sheet to my accountant now nicely labeled.  She sorted the list and totaled out each by my category entry names (I had about 8 categories, but it doesn't matter how many - You know what you need.)

She sent it back to me in 2 minutes time. So now I will manually enter just one entry for each category, (1 fuel entry, 1 meals entry, etc... except my INVENTORY which will each be entered individually because that is how we track our inventory).  I will have about 30 entries instead of 300.

Those of you who have thousands, I think this will be very beneficial to you.  You know what needs to be individually entered, so make sure you label it however you prefer.

This will save me a few hours and some of you a few days.  Hope this helps.

Love my accountant!

It sounds like this was resolved but I just tried to download the QBO file and I'm getting an message saying "Quickbooks was not able to complete your request. Please contact your financial institution." Wondering if this is related or a new issue??

Chase QBO Webconnect download problem

Hello, brooklyn1717.

Thanks for bringing this matter to my attention. I want to make sure you’re able to import the QBO WebConnect file successfully in QuickBooks Online.

We have not received any reports similar to this from other users like you. It’s possible the file is corrupted resulting in the error prompt.

Let's download transactions from your bank’s website and import the file in QuickBooks again. Here’s how:
1.    Log in to your bank’s website and follow the process to download transactions to your computer.
2.    Choose the transactions you want to download or specify a date range.
3.    Select a supported file type for the download file.
4.    Name the file and save it on a location where you can easily find it.

Now, you can start uploading the file to QuickBooks. To do that, follow the steps below:
1.    Go to Banking from the left menu and select Banking.
2.    Select File upload from the Update drop-down.
3.    Click Browse, then locate the file you downloaded from the bank and select it.
4.    Hit Next.
5.    Choose the account from the QuickBooks account drop-down and click Next.
6.    Finally, click Let’s go! (or Finish).

Please see this article for your reference: How to upload more than 90 days of bank transactions.

That should do it. Give this a try and let me know how it goes. If you have any questions, leave a comment below. I’ll be more than happy to answer them for you. Thanks for dropping by, I’ll keep an eye out for your response.

I contacted Chase and they haven't made any changes and do not know of any reason that it wouldn't be uploading. I don't have a online quickbooks account and use a desktop version so who would I contact for support?

Hi brooklyn1717,

At this point, it'd be best if one of your Chat agents can do further checking on your Bank Feed Center page to get to the bottom of this. They have additional tools to do that. Please refer to this article: Contact the QuickBooks Desktop Customer Support Team. They are open from Monday - Friday 5 AM - 5 PM PST.

Bumping this issue up -- still having same issue with a savings account even though checking account downloads fine. Opened file on Mac in TextEdit and already seeing <INTU.BID>2430 so is there anything else that could be the problem?

Chase QBO Webconnect download problem

Let's ensure that you're able to download your bank transactions to QuickBooks for Mac, theoaronson.

Generally, once you encounter errors in QuickBooks, the bank may have made changes to its service offerings via Web or Direct Connect. Second, they might be performing system maintenance or have made changes to their name (bank merger) that requires you to refresh the page. Lastly, a problem with one or more accounts in your company file may have caused the issue.

You'll want to make sure to update QuickBooks for Mac to the latest release to improve its functionality and fixed issues. But before doing so, I suggest backing up your company file to secure your data.

However, if you still encounter the same, you can log into your bank's website to check if they have ongoing maintenance or connection issues. For more information you can check this article: Fix Online Banking

If the issue persists, I suggest reaching out to our support team to investigate this further. They have the tools to pull up your account in a secure environment.

Once you're able to download, I recommend adding your bank transactions and creating renaming rules. You can also match them to the existing entries in your register. Doing so will help ensure your financial records are accurate in the software. For more information, view the Add and match transactions section through this article: Set Up And Use Online Banking (Mac).

Feel free to let us know if you need assistance with your bank transaction. We're always ready to help.

@theoaronson

If your bank supports SlickConnect, utilize the trial period of it to isolate the issue.
