Computer Screen Refreshes Every 30-60 Seconds While Using QB Desktop

For some reason unknown to me, my computer screen will freeze/refresh every 30-60 seconds, but only while I have my Quickbooks Desktop program running. Does anyone else have this problem or have any idea what I can do to resolve this? It's very irritating to deal with all day because I use my Quickbooks program off and on all day so I can't close it. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

Hi there. @kpruitt_sje.

I’m here to help fix the challenges you’ve encountered while using QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT).

To start, let's make sure that QuickBooks Desktop is updated to the latest release. Here's how:

  1. Go to the File menu at the top.
  2. Then, Close Company/Logoff.
  3. Go back to the File menu and choose Exit.
  4. Right-click the QuickBooks Desktop icon on your desktop, then select Run as administrator.
  5. While on the No Company Open screen, pick Update QuickBooks from the Help menu.
  6. In the Options tab, choose Mark All and Save.
  7. Mark the Reset Update box in the Update Now tab.
  8. Click the Get Updates button.
  9. Once the Update Complete appears, close and re-open the program.
  10. If you get the message to install update, select Yes. Restart your computer after the installation.

Once done, check to see if everything is okay. If the issue persists, let's run the Quick Fix my Program from the QuickBooks Tool Hub. For more details, see this article: Solutions for when QuickBooks has stopped working.

Should you have additional questions about the process, please let me know as I'm always here to answer them for you.

Thank you @MirriamM !!! You are a life-saver!!!! It appears this has fixed my issue. I've taken it for a "test drive" for the last couple of hours and it hasn't done it since doing these steps! Thanks again!
