Join nowI need help setting up a user who can see a P/L and Balance Sheet and Accounts Receivable Reports but NOT payroll reports. Is this possible?
A warm welcome to the Community, WandaJW.
I'd be pleased to help you manage a user that can access those specific reports in QuickBooks Desktop.
You can modify the user's permission to access the P&L, Balance Sheet, and Accounts Receivable reports. Here's how:
After that, you can assign this role to your user.
Once done, login using the user's credentials and access these reports. You can refer to this article for detailed information on how to modify a user role as well as steps to view their current access in QuickBooks: Create and manage roles in QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise.

Thank you for the clear instructions. I do not want this user to see payroll. When I mark in the report area, to see company and financial reports, so that he can see the balance sheet and profit/loss reports, the user can see a payroll summary. I have tested marking and unmarking many times and can't find a solution. The user isn't able to "drill down" on a value in the payroll summary but can bring up a full blown payroll report. I am very frustrated. At this time, I am just printing reports for this manager as needed.
