Does Quickbooks always say "Something's not working. Give us a few minutes and try again. If it still doesn't work, please contact us." When you try to cancel?

I've sold my business and need to cancel my Quickbooks account, but whenever I try, I get an error message. Is this a usual trick to make it harder to cancel?

Nonetheless, I can help you get around the error message and cancel your account seamlessly. Before that, I'd suggest saving a copy of your data so can still access it after canceling. 

 

Once done, let's get started by accessing your QuickBooks Online (QBO) in a private or incognito window. QBO uses cache to swiftly load pages faster. When pilled up, this causes issues and affects the functionality of your account.

 

Using a safe window helps us verify the issue as this does not save any junk files. To open a private window, you can use these keyboard shortcuts.

 

Press keys:

 

  • Ctrl + Shift + N for Google Chrome browser
  • Ctrl + Shift + P for Mozilla Firefox & Microsoft Edge browsers
  • Command + Shift + N for Safari browser

 

If you're able to cancel your account using a safe window, I suggest opening your regular browser and clear its cache. If the issue remains, I propose using other supported browsers. This way, we can check if this a browser-integrated issue.

I tried cancelling via chat and was told someone would be contacting me to let me know my account has been cancelled, and I was given a case number. I will update after I hear back from them.
