Buy nowI use QB online to practice from a YouTube tutorial. Throughout the tut there are practice tests. In order to retake these tests for practice in the future I had exported my data from QB online.
But when I try to export my saved data I find it impossible to since when I try to, QB online only shows these mandatory fields to import to: Bank Data, Customers, Vendors, Chart of Accounts, Products and Services and Invoices.
My exported data shows these in excel sheets: balance sheet, customers, employees, general ledger, journal, profit & loss and trial balance.
As you can see, there are no fields for general ledger, trial balance and journal on QB online. So how can I upload, for example: general ledger, trial balance and journal into QB online if there are no fields for them?
You need a 3rd party app to import JE or Trial Balance as JE and you can utilize an exporter tool as well.
I'm very confused here. I tried Transaction Pro as you suggested. But it only backed up a part of my quickbooks online data. This makes 0 sense.
Do you know any other programs that can back up my entire data? Btw I'm on win 10.
You can use a backup restore app
https://rewindio.grsm.io/quickbooks
But if you prefer to keep "a file" as backup, You must convert your QBO account data to QB Desktop file format.
Appreciate it but the link to Rewind asks for your cc before starting a free trial. I'm hesitant about giving my cc.
You also suggest converting my QBO account data to QB Desktop. But I dont have QB desktop account, only a QBO account.
I just want to practice QBO and take tests in the youtube video. To do so I need to back up data at certain points in time to restore data and retake the tests which require specific data. I just want to practice qbo.
Can you suggest anything else?
Another option, signup for QBO Accountant US version for free. Make sure you have a US phone number beforehand
But I have QBO accountant for free already. When I go to 'Online Backup & Restore' to make a backup, the 'New Manual Backup' option is greyed out.
And when I go to Copy on the same page to make a copy of the 1st company, the page just refreshes itself. Nothing happens. Why is this happening??
When I click 'Home' to 'View Status' I get a message that says:
"Online Back Up & Restore isn't available yet for your firm's books-the QuickBooks company you use to manage your own accounting."
I dont understand. Why is this happening?? How can you fix this?
Is QBO Accountant free for life?
Hi sileebo,
I can see that Fiat Lux - ASIA has given good information about your concern. Let me continue helping you with your follow-up questions.
Yes, QBO Accountant is free for life. It is designed for firm users, and one can only have one QBO Accountant subscription per email address or Intuit account.
On the other hand, backing up the entire data is only available to the QBO Advanced plan, not for QBO for Accountant and other QBO plans. This is why nothing happens when you copied your page, and you received a prompt saying it's not available for you.
As for converting to QB Desktop (Accountant version), you will need a third-party app as we cannot directly convert data from QBO Accountant. However, there is no trial version for QB Desktop Accountant, so if your goal is just to create a backup, this may not be an option for you. You may want to continue using your current QBO Accountant instead.
Feel free to go back to this thread if you have more questions about QuickBooks. Take care and have a good one!
Appreciate the info. How much is the QBO Advanced plan at its cheapest?
Thanks for your interest in using QuickBooks, @sileebo.
Let me help share information about the different plans and pricing in QuickBooks Online (QBO).
There are four plans available in QBO, which have unique features. These are:
The higher plan is the QBO Advanced which has more features that you can have. And the cheapest plan is the Simple Start. We provide a discount (for three months) when you sign up for a new account. And you can see the offer during the process of purchasing a subscription.
To help you check which subscription level is right for you and the updated cost, check out this link: https://quickbooks.intuit.com/pricing/. From there, you'd see their comparisons.
Additionally, here are some helpful references that you can check out about the subscription, like how the features work:

Hi.. excuse the late reply. If I bought Simple Start QBO, can I make several different backups?
It's nice to have you here again, @sileebo.
I'm here to see your confusion about backing up data in QuickBooks Online.
I appreciate your interest in using the QuickBooks Online Simple Start plan. I can see my colleagues provided good information about our available plans and their features. For now, only the QBO Advanced package has access to data backup.
When you decide to get the Advance plan, you can learn more about backing up data and restoring your QuickBooks Online Advanced Company. You can check the data that you can and can't back up.
I'm here to help if you have additional questions about backing up data in QuickBooks Online. Have a great day!
The backup restore feature is only available on QBO Advanced.

If you prefer to use QBO Simple Start, you should explore the backup restore app I mentioned earlier.
I tried going to the links you provided but security on my browser stopped the pages from loading due to potential security issues. What exactly are these links?

Btw I tried your suggestion of using Rewind. It failed HORRIBLY. Every time I tried to restore backed up data, the data restored was not accurate. On top of that, when I tried to restore from different backups with the same data, it restored very different data than previous backups with the same data.
Rewind is a failure. I dont recommend it to anyone.
security on my browser stopped the pages from loading due to potential security issues.
It is possible that you have Adblocker enabled in your browser. You can compare the discounted prices on both pages if you decide to buy QBO.
I will not buy QBO advanced for $100 when I only need to use it to study it.
I tried to restore backed up data, the data restored was not accurate
You should contact their Support to make sure.
You should contact their Support to make sure.
Thats exactly what I did, they walked me through the restore process and as a result they failed to restore my data accurately.
To echo what I said before, Rewind is a complete failure.
I have 2 questions...
1) If I get QB Desktop, could I export and restore data to it from QBO (free account)?
2) Could I be able to make different backups in QB Desktop?
