To download the QuickBooks Online Desktop app, ensure you have a 64-bit Windows computer and a QuickBooks Online subscription or QuickBooks Online Accountant account. Once you have confirmed this, follow these steps to download the app:
- Sign in to your QuickBooks Online account.
- Go to the Gear icon, and under Your Company, select Get the desktop app.
- Choose between Windows and Mac, depending on which operating system you are currently using.
- Double-click the installation file once the download is complete to start the installation process.

- If you see multiple QuickBooks Online companies, select the one you want to open.
- The first time you use the desktop app, you’ll see an option to select how QuickBooks is displayed on the main homepage (you can change this later).

Use the provided shortcut to access your QBO account from your desktop easily. Once you have signed in, the app will securely store your login details and automatically open QBO. Unless you manually log out, you won't be asked to sign in again for another 6 months.
