How to restore a estimate that was lost

It’s great to see you here, @cmccoy1056.

Allow me to share some information on how you can restore deleted estimates in QuickBooks Online.

When you’re not sure what specific transaction is deleted from your account, you can access the audit log and check the transaction detail. Currently, there’s no way to automatically restore your deleted estimates. What you can do is to manually re-enter your estimates using the information stored in the audit log.

I can see how beneficial it is for you and your business to be able to automatically restore any deleted transactions in QuickBooks. I'll make sure to pass along your request to the Product Development Team for consideration in future updates.

Here's how:

  1. Go to Gear icon.
  2. Choose Feedback.
  3. Type in comments or suggestions.
  4. Select Next.
  5. Click Skip.
  6. Hit Send Message.

You can always visit the Community page if you have other questions about retrieving your deleted transactions. I'm always here to help.

How to restore a estimate that was lost

We don't want you to experience certain transactions going missing. George191.

Let's do a few troubleshooting methods to locate the estimate you created on April 24, 2023.

All transactions entered in QuickBooks Online are stored in cloud storage. The system doesn't automatically remove data. The estimate might be missing due to cache-related problems caused by too much-outdated data stored in your browser, or the estimate isn't successfully saved.

I encourage you to check the Audit log since it lists all the activities made to your account. This way, you'll be able to verify if it was completely saved. To do this, go to the Settings icon and click Audit log.

If you see the estimate there, you can access your QBO account using an incognito window. This mode helps fix some browser issues since it doesn't store any site data.

Here are the shortcut keys:

  • For Google Chrome browser: Ctrl + Shift + N
  • For Mozilla Firefox browser: Ctrl + Shift + P
  • For Safari browser: Command + Option + P

Return to your normal browser if it works and then clear the cache to delete the internet files and refresh the system. Alternatively, utilize a different supported browser.

Additionally, I've added this article to guide you in converting an estimate to an invoice for future reference: Convert an estimate into an invoice in QuickBooks Online.
