When moving your data from QBDT to QBO, you'll have to make sure that you're using a supported version. You can install the trial license of QuickBooks 2020. This way, you'll be able to export your data to QBO from the trial version.
Once done, follow these steps:
For more detailed steps, refer to this article: Move your QuickBooks Desktop file to QuickBooks Online.
Know that there are limitations when you convert your file. That includes the attachments, audit trail, and recurring transactions.
Once done, I'd recommend running the Profit and Loss and Balance Sheet reports to ensure that you transferred your data correctly. To verify your reports in both products, filter the date period to All Dates and the accounting method to Accrual. If you have to open a new QBO account, make sure to click the Buy button to get the discounted price for up to 3 months. If you purchase from the trial account, you have to pay the regular rate.

You will have access to your payroll data 6 months after you cancel the account. Within that period, you can print or export your reports to Excel to save a copy of your payroll data. Here's how:
To export the report, select View in Excel in the right-hand corner. You can also click the Printer-Friendly Version link just beside it if you want to print the report.

What is the website for my login going to be? Currently I login to the BOA website then go to business services / payroll. I won't be able to do that once I cancel the BOA account, right?
Hi there, mcengstrom.
Thanks for bringing this to our attention. I'm here to ensure that you'll be able to cancel your Bank of America account.
Yes, you won't be able to do that once you cancel it and you'll need to transfer the data first to your payroll account.
Here's the website that you can use when logging in to your account: iop.intuit.com.
If you're still unable to cancel the BOA account and you received an error message, I'd suggest contacting our support team. They can pull up your account to review the connection between your QBDT account and Bank of America. They can also open an investigation if an issue is found, then add you to the affected users so you can receive updates about its status.
