My Invoice function for QuickBooks self-employed will not work on both desktop and mobile. Is anyone else having this same problem?? If so is there a fix???"

I know this has been a challenging process for you, @dakotadan. I'm here to assist you by providing a few troubleshooting steps to get your invoices in QuickBooks Self-Employed working again. 

 

Before that, may I know if you are using the QuickBooks Self Employed app or Desk app? Can you also tell me the specific issue you encounter?  I need more information to help me get on the same page. This way, I can check here on our end if there are ongoing investigations about this matter. 

 

If so, let's refresh your QBSE app to resolve the common problems. A large amount of data in the cache might cause this.

 

Here's how:

 

  1. Go to the Menu icon and tap Help & Feedback.
  2. Select Refresh Data.
  3. Tap Refresh to confirm.

From your phone's settings, choose Apps. Then, select the QuickBooks app from the list, and click Storage. From there, tap Clear Data.

 

If the issue persists, you may restart your phone, update your phone's operating system, and re-install the QBSE app. Also, consider logging in to your account using a web browser.

 

Once everything is well, you can begin creating invoice in QuickBooks Self Employed.

All invoicing buttons are not working in our Quickbooks Online account for both my sign in and my partner's sign in. We need to invoice a client and can't do that right now. QuickBooks support seems to be unavailable today too.

Before proceeding, can you share a screenshot where invoices aren't accessible? Are there any error messages when creating an invoice? I appreciate any further information so I can present accurate solutions.

 

If there are no modifications, we can perform some basic troubleshooting steps to rule out the possibility of a browser issue.

 

Sometimes, unusual behaviors, such as missing features, are caused by accumulated cache stored in your browser. To refresh your QBO, we can log in to your account through a private window. Here's how

 

  • For Google Chrome browser: Ctrl + Shift + N
  • For Mozilla Firefox browser: Ctrl + Shift + P
  • For Safari browser: Command + Shift + N

 

Then, let's create invoices again. If it works, let's return to your regular browser and clear its cache and cookies or use a different supported browser. It can be a temporary issue with QBO or the browser you're currently using.

We received several reports regarding other users having the same issue. A ticket was created and forwarded to our product engineers. They're now working to fix this as quickly as possible.

 

In the meantime, I highly suggest contacting our Support team so they can add your details to our notification list. This also helps our engineers determine the number of affected users. An email notification will sent to your once this has been fixed.

I have not been able access any invoices since May 1 (I have all previously issued invoices. They stop appearing after May 1). I've called twice and I understand you're working on it, but I need an ETA. It's urgent at this point. I also received a poorly written email on July 14 that did not instill confidence (see below).

 

Dear Valued Customer, 

Thank you for your patience while we asked our product development team to look into this issue you’re experiencing with missing invoices in the Invoices list. 

Our product team has shared that this error is occurring due to a design issue that’s currently being reimagined by our product team. They are actively working to resolve this for you and  (and that of other customers impacted by this issue) have led us to conclude that this specific functionality in product could be reimagined to be more effective for our users. As a result, we are shifting resources from pursuing this as something not working correctly as a defect to improving the user experience via a product enhancement. 

While we don't have an ETA for when we will have this resolved, we appreciate your patience and understanding while we work to get that done for you. As soon as we’ve done that we will let you know.

Currently, our investigation ticket mentioned in FritzF's post is still ongoing. This means Intuit's Product Investigations team is still researching into what's causing it. Once a solution exists, they'll update the case with details about it.

 

If you haven't yet, I'd recommend making sure your account is added to our investigation as an affected user. This will assure that you receive email notifications about any news relating to it.

Invoice not working on QuickBooks self-employed

I had 2 case numbers. Each time they closes the case even though it wasn't resolved. Here's one from June 28. Is there any work around to access the invoices?

 

This is regarding our case # 15101740978 wherein we discussed about your concern regarding "Multiple invoices missing on Invoices tab". Your account has been affected by the ongoing investigation. The issue has been reported already to our product engineering team. Now, they are expediting the process, thus, they are prioritizing for the permanent fix of your issue. The last update I got from them is that this has been put in their priority list and they are getting a good progress in this issue.

I would like to apologize for the troubles and frustration that you experienced, the error was due to reasons beyond the control. We do our best to provide the best possible level of service, but sometimes unpredictable pitfalls pop up out of nowhere and cause such incidents.

With regard to this matter, has been escalated and our engineers are working on it. This incident has been fully noted and the necessary precautions have been put in place as preventive measures. We will update you once this will be fixed.

For reference, Case ID 15101740978  INV-87908 "Multiple invoices missing on Invoices tab". I'll be closing the case that I created but that doesn't mean that the escalation would stop. In fact, closing the case would only mean that your account has been successfully linked to the investigation and an update will be sent out to you once this issue is totally fixed. Rest assured our Engineering team is already working on this and once a resolution has been rolled out, we will make sure to let you know immediately.

If you have any further questions; you may reach back out to us by requesting for a call back through the Help Icon located at the upper right corner of your QuickBooks Self-employed Account, just click on the “Contact Us” button, then type in “call back” on the search bar, and proceed by choosing the “CALL BACK” option.    Please add me to the growing list of users that have had the entire list of invoices not displaying on my desk top; therefore, impacting my ability to conduct business. Needless to say, given the the urgency of the issue and it not yet being resolved is of a significant concern as a customer of Quickbooks.

  1. Log in to your QuickBooks Self-Employed account.
  2. Press the (?) Help icon at the top right corner of the page.
  3. Click the Contact Us button and enter brief information about your concern and tap Continue.
  4. Under How would you like to connect with us? Select either to Chat with us or get a Callback.

The Invoice tab stopped working for me too. I have 100+ invoices and this is the first time they haven't appeared when I click the "Invoices" tab on Quickbooks Self Employed Online. Obviously this is a crucial feature so the bug needs to be resolved ASAP

I tried this. Followed each instruction. Does not get me on any "list" as you describe. I ended up simply creating another post. This was not a useful or satisfactory reply and took up precious time.

The problem has worsened. Until Friday, I could see all invoiced prior to May 1, 2023. Today I can't see any invoices at all. None.

An investigation was recently initiated by our engineers to determine the reason behind the missing invoices in QBSE. A list was also created to track all of affected users. This would let us notify everyone on the list as soon as this issue is resolved.

 

I noticed that you've already contacted our phone support. However, I would advise you to reach out to them again so they can gather your contact information and include you in the list. This will ensure that you receive updates on the progress of the issue.

 

Here's how to reach out to them: 

 

  1. Go to Help in the upper-right hand corner.
  2. Select Contact Us.
  3. Let them know that your invoices are missing or provide INV-87908 as a reference, then click Let's Talk.
  4. Choose  between these options:

 

  • Chat with us 
  • Have us call you

As of today, I am now able to see invoices from May 1, 2023 and prior. I am still unable to see any invoices since May 2.
