Thanks Ailene. I neglected to mention that I am using Gopayment on my tablet. My bad. The tablet is running the latest version of the Android OS and Gopayment is up to date. I contacted the app developer and got referred here. The tablet, card reader, and printer are connected via Bluetooth and are working together. The printer prints, the card reader works and the transactions show up in my QBO account. I tested the drawer and cable using my PayPal app and Star Micronics printer and it opened fine. I can find no option to enable a cash drawer in the Gopayment Android app. What did I miss? We have a couple of weeks to figure this out before I'll start using this configuration. I really do not want to have to go back to PayPal.
Max
Thank you for the additional information, @maxs.
The cash drawer should work perfectly fine using an android app. Once your Bluetooth is turned on, you can enable the receipt printer and cash drawer inside the GoPayment app.
Also, please make sure to have the compatible or recommended printers as well as the cable used to connect the printer for better results. For your guide, check out the details from this link: What devices are compatible with QuickBooks Point of Sale?.

There is no definitive answer yet. I spent several hours Friday on the phone with an extremely helpful Coty as he listened to all the steps and tests I have taken to resolve the issue. He then researched the problem using his resources at Intuit. He found no previous reports of problems, nor did he find anything definitive that the Gopayment Android app will open a cash drawer. We decided that he will keep researching the issue on his end and that I will contact Epson to ensure that this printer will in fact provide the kick voltage to trigger the cash drawer, and that I will contact the app developer thru Google Play and ask if the app is designed to signal the printer to open the drawer.
I am having the same issue but i bought the Epson TM m10 printer.
Hi @Mkeegan4664,
Same as what the user maxs stated on the thread before you, it's best to contact the printer manufacturer to find out if it's capable of providing the signal for the cash drawer to open.

I am having the same issue. I have the epson tm utillity on my tablet and can confirm that the test receipt in that app will open the cash drawer. There is no option in the go payment app to select whether or not to open drawer.

First off, the inability to open and print it can be caused by the following issues:

That entire article is referring to quickbooks point of sale and using windows. We are all using a tablet and the Gopayment app, NOT quickbooks POS. The tablet connects to the printer using bluetooth. We are using the "supported" epson printers. The printer prints receipts perfectly, it just doesn't trigger drawer to open. I have confirmed the printer is capable of opening the drawer with another app. Please read the problems we are all having carefully before re-posting the exact same incorrect tips from earlier in the same thread.
