My income and expense accounts display only in quick report and not register view

Hi there

I am using desktop pro .

I inactivated some of my accounts and now my income and expenses are no longer showing balances and when I go into any of these acccounts I do not get the register format it automatically goes to quick report for these accounts.

If I right click there is a use register option - but that is greyed out.

I thought I would reactivate the accounts to see if that fixed things but that option is greyed out - so I am not able to select it either.

Whether this is the cause I am not sure, but it was a change I made before I started experiencing this issue.

I would like to see my accounts in register view when I go into them vs being presented with the quick report format.

In QuickBooks, Income & Expense account never show balances on the chart of accounts. They also don't have registers. Only Balance Sheet type accounts have balances and registers.

Hi

When I use to go into these accounts I could see all the transactions listed like in a register. Now it does not show that. I only get the option of running a report

from the Chart of Accounts list - I use to be able to open all types of accounts in register view - this was very helpful for reconciling liability and expense accounts with marking the cleared or using the reconciliation feature for things other than banking and regular liabilities. As an accountant working on a number of clients in desktop, this is a key method in my monthly reconcile. PLEASE bring this option back.
