you can say that because you work for quickbooks. you should see what it is like on the other end for us to get support either by phone or chat. I would say most of us spend hours and we get nowhere. Most of your live agents no nothing about quickbooks. Whenever I have to call, I pretty much need to set aside a day and plan on that day being a stressful one. In most cases I know more about quickbooks that the person I am talking to. Every once and awhile I get some real help but that is rare. Until you try it yourself you really dont now what its like on the other end. I am getting by with shipping manager right now, but it is still terrible compared to the original shipping manager which I used for over 25 years

I don't want this come off rude or strong but your answer is complete BS. As other people have posted, when we have to call customer service it turns into easily a 3-4 hour phone call.

 

The last major issue I had was during an upgrade 4 years ago. It wouldn't let multi user mode work. I spend 4 hours the 1st day and 3.5 hours the next day and they had no idea. After FINALLY getting the phone call to the next level of customer service, the lady knew how to fix it in 2 minutes. Having to open a file in Notepad and Change a 0 to 1.

 

We don't want to call and spend our entire day having phone conversations and nothing gets fixed. It ends up to the same ridiculous customer service agent that is following a script and are going to ask us to restart our computer, ask us to uninstall the program and blah blah blah. 

 

Quickbooks has the most embarrassing customer service agents and model of any program and we are paying very good money for this.

 

Let me ask you this, QUICKBOOKS FORCED us to change to the new shipping manager in December. NOT ONE ISSUE HAS BEEN FIXED. All the phone numbers typed out in my 50,000+ customers are (123) 123-1234. But the new shipping manager doesn't allow the () or -. Has that COMMON SENSE issue been fixed. NOPE. 

 

It doesn't send the customers the automatic emails telling them they have a package on the way from FedEx anymore. Has that COMMON SENSE issue been fixed. NOPE. 

 

2 Weeks ago the Shipping Manager wasn't working for anybody for multiple hours. This week it disconnected the FedEx and UPS Accounts and would only let us ship USPS for everybody.

 

When are you all at Quickbooks going to wake up realize this new shipping manager is a PIECE OF TRASH and let us go back to the old ways OR fix this piece of trash to make it work like the old ways.

Still have yet to get any responses from other moderators and employees I've tagged previously... Good to know Intuit takes zero responsibility.

Anybody else encounter a new issue this morning?...... As of this morning only the QB admin login was able to use the Shipping Manager. All other users received an error message that said,

“You do not have the access to perform this action. To complete this, request for access from your Primary Admin”. 

 

I literally worked on this all day long (from 8:00 AM until 4:45) before finally speaking with a high-level support person advised that I needed to give all of my employees "Secondary Admin" access to allow them to use Shipping Manager. That's absolutely moronic. These clowns just continue to amaze me with their level of ineptness. 

 

And just in case anybody from Intuit happens to read this and actually cares, here's a list of the 

functionalities that were available in the old Shipping Module but are still excluded from the new Shipping Manager:

 

o Cannot create return label or call tag

o Will not do FedEx One-Rate

o Will not allow a second UPS account to be activated (enabling negotiated rates)

o Cannot do an international shipment.

o Only one email address can be included — therefore have to remove extra email addresses.

o Phone number field ONLY allows numerals — dashes and parentheses must be removed

 

But seriously, if they cared they either never would have forced us off of the old shipping modules or they at least would have corrected all of these deficiencies.

We still can't use Shipping Manager because it doesn't pull our contracted rates. We will not pay list price. We have switched to UPS through Stamps.com. Much easier and cheaper. Why do I have to pay for Shipping Manager? It is worthless to us. QB hasn't fixed it.

Still haven't seen any Intuit employees provide anything meaningful on here. Thanks for doing absolutely nothing.

Hi there. QuickBooks Shipping Manager requires an active connection, or handshake, with external carrier servers, such as UPS, FedEx, or USPS, to function. Because Intuit frequently updates these connections to meet new security protocols and API requirements, you must ensure your QuickBooks Desktop is running the latest update to avoid errors.

When your QuickBooks version is outdated, the Shipping Manager attempts to connect using legacy communication protocols that carriers like FedEx and UPS have sunsetted or blocked for security reasons. Older versions utilize an unsupported architecture, resulting in the software hanging while waiting for a response from a server that is no longer active.

To resolve this, go to the Help menu and select Update QuickBooks Desktop. Click the Options tab, select Yes to enable automatic updates, and then click Close.

We've been complaining about this POS shipping manager for 5 months. Where it absolutely is atrocious and doesn't work right. We've stated our issues HUNDREDS of times. The program crashed for a day at a time and no one has a gave a flying f**K. 

 

Now you come in here and are like, you need to updated your Quickbooks.

@Kurt_M , I just ran updates. It downloaded a new "critical fix" that was not present when I updated yesterday, but of course this did not resolve the issue.

 

Now, can you please escalate this to the engineer who apparently made an overnight change to the application but failed to test it before implementing -- just like he did two weeks ago?

This guy is right, instead of reading from a script you guys should escalate. Not being able to ship kind of costs companies money and customer confidence. The amount of money we spend on QB's is ridiculous for the service we get.

I, just like everyone else, ran the update and re-booted. It is still broken. the frustration you are seeing here is because we are dependent on this software. Without shipping we are dead in the water. Please, for the love of god, escalate this and get it resolved.
