I want to set up online payments, but I don't have SSN, only ITIN, because I am not a native of USA.
I have a company that registered in the USA.
When I write ITIN in the field of the form, I cannot complete fields next, because QB shows me a mistake.
What should I do?
Hi there, Precoro Inc.
For now, the system only accepts SSN when signing up for QuickBooks Online Payment. This is for security purposes. Once you have it, you can re-apply.
For future reference you can check on this article: How to Set Up and Use QuickBooks Payments.
Reach out to us if you have further questions. We are always open to help.
But CEO of our company cannot receive SSN. (He is from another country) He has only ITIN ( I can send you this document if you need).
Do you have other ways of registering online payments for our company in this case?
I hope for your help. Thanks in advance.
It’s good to hear from you, Precoro Inc.
Please reach out to our QuickBooks Payments support team. They can verify if you can use ITIN to sign up for the Payments service.
Let us know if you have other questions. Have a good one!
My customer has paid me $1000, but I've provided services him for $900.
How can I do this operation in QB?
I can do only an invoice. But I want to Know what indebted I have in front of the customer.
Hello, Precoro Inc.
You use the concept of recording retainers in QuickBooks Online. This process is about recording the customer’s advance payment prior from doing the service. Accounting this in QuickBooks would need you to complete the following steps:
For additional information about recording retainers, please check this article: https://quickbooks.intuit.com/community/Income-and-expenses/How-to-record-a-retainer-or-deposit/m-p/....
Don’t hesitate to post again if there’s anything else you need.
Thanks. I've used the instruction that you sent me, but I have some questions.
I'll write my action in QB and please advise me where I do wrong.
I've received money( $1000) from my customer for an annual subscription like deposit and I want to do a document for the customer every month.
1.I've created Trust Liability Account
2. I've received $1000 and created Sales Receipt on $1000
3.I've created an invoice on $600 and select Deposit item and usually subscription like in instruction (https://quickbooks.intuit.com/community/Income-and-expenses/How-to-record-a-retainer-or-deposit/m-p/...).
In the Balance Sheet, I see this action and my balance from this payment.
But when I've created invoice $600, I see this amount on the dashboard - not due yet invoiced.
What do I do wrong?
Thanks for getting back us, @Precoro Inc.
Since you’ve already followed the steps provided by my colleague above, I'd be glad to add a few information about recording retainers.
When you create the retainer item, it will have a balance in the liability account. Since the money was created for the sales receipt, it means it was not for the company. The money will be recorded to the "Trust Liability Bank Account."
Also, the invoice you've created will show as a normal invoice transaction. And this invoice will show as due until the due date is reached.
You may review again the article about recording retainers: How to Record a Retainer or Deposit.
Fill me in if you have further questions. I'll be around if you need any help.
