It'll not affect to the other users unless they're opening the same sample file. With that, you can use it to test some of the available features in QuickBooks Desktop. You can see there is an option to open a sample file. Did you encounter any error?
There's no error message, and I could successfully open the file, but I just don't know if it will affect other users when I open the file under multi-user mode.

At the moment, we are unable to provide QuickBooks Desktop 2014 on our website since it is an unsupported version. Nevertheless, you may want to try checking with retail stores as they might still have this particular version of QuickBooks available.
Please note that QuickBooks Desktop 2014 is a discontinued version, which means that you will not receive the latest critical security patches and updates. Additionally, you will not have access to live technical support if you encounter any problems or any of the other Intuit services that can be integrated with QuickBooks Desktop, such as QuickBooks Desktop Payroll, QuickBooks Desktop Payments, and online bank feeds. Discontinued versions do not receive the latest critical security patches and updates.
