QB for Windows Pop up item issue. using multiple displays.

I am running QB for Windows on a 4K laptop with two additional 4K displays. I am finding that some of the pop ups (payroll or find-checks, etc) are invoked by QB but do not appear on any of the displays. QB seems to be placing them beyond the display's view. When this happens, I can't do anything with QB except force quit and restart it. I have three displays numbered 1, 2 and 3 from right to left. The two external displays are set to max resolution (3840x2160) and 100% on the scale. The laptop display is set to max resolution and 200% on the scale for eye relief and this is the display I use for QB. The other displays I use for spreadsheets, e-mail, file explorer, and other things.

QB needs to fix this and build a program that can operate correctly in this environment. I've figured out some work-arounds but still, from time to time it will throw a pop up menu into the bleachers and I either have to kill QB with task manager or turn off all the external displays to see if it will display the pop-up.   Thanks for your attention.

I am using Quickbooks Desktop Pro 2021 which is not in the Products list.

Welcome to the Community, @KPTNFMRS.

I understand your views in regards to the system's ability to display things like payroll or find-checks and other pop-up windows executed by QuickBooks while multi-tasking. And this isn't the experience that I want you to have while using the program.

It seems that you're also following the system requirements, which allows QuickBooks to use up to 2 extended monitors with a display optimized for 1280 x 1024 or higher (3840 x 2160). I also think that the scale is relevant to the issue, and I'll be providing a solution to that without restarting the system.

When some QuickBooks pop-up windows do not appear on any of the extended monitors, you can right-click on the Taskbar found below all the windows. Then you can choose Cascade windowsShow windows stacked, or Show windows side by side so you won't have to close the program moving forward. Then you can minimize other windows if it is still not displaying the QuickBooks pop-up screen.

Once you see and manage to put some details and save the information in the pop-up window, you can right-click the Taskbar again to Undo the following options I recommended. In that manner, it will revert your viewing for Windows applications to normal.

QB for Windows Pop up item issue. using multiple displays.

Can anyone tell me that when I open invoices for clients, a pop-up appears that says Get Paid Fast, Paper Free.

I do not have the pop-up checked in my preferences, General, My Preferences.

If you select Maybe Later, it does not work. If you select More Info, it does not work.

How can that be removed?

Thank you for joining this thread, @Jazzie2025.

Allow me to share information about pop-ups showing in QuickBooks Desktop.

These pop up are ads that are specifically created to offer guidance and recommendations for enhancing your QBDT experience. Currently, the option to remove this entirely is unavailable.

What we can do is either click the Maybe Later or More Info options. Since it's not working on your end, we can utilize the Verify and Rebuild tools. This helps find and resolve the most common issues in a company file.

Verify your company data:

  1. Go to Window, then select Close All.
  2. Go to File, then choose Utilities.
  3. Click Verify Data

Rebuild your company file data:

  1. Proceed to FileUtilities, and then select Rebuild Data.
  2. QuickBooks will ask you to make a backup before it rebuilds your company file. Select OK. A backup is required before you can rebuild.
  3. Select where you want to save your backup, then OK. Don’t replace another backup file. Enter a new name in the File name and select Save.
  4. Select OK when you get the message Rebuild has completed.

Once done, try to select the Maybe Later or More Info options.

If you come across potential data issues, you can refer to this article for assistance in resolving them: Fix data damage on your QuickBooks Desktop company file.
