Quick Books import/utilities

I'll help you with getting access to the Utilities tab in QuickBooks Desktop Point of Sale (POS), @WMPCS.

To get started, I recommend closing your POS, then open the file again to refresh QuickBooks. After that, sign in to POS as an admin, then update QuickBooks to install the latest updates and fix common errors.

Here's how:

  1. Go to the Help menu and hover over Software Update.
  2. Tap on Check for updates. If QuickBooks finds an update, you'll see it as an option.
  3. When you're ready, select Update now and then OK.

Once done, go back to the File menu to access the Utilities tab.

To learn more about the specific requirement to ensure software compatibility and avoid issues while working with POS, you can open this article: System requirements for QuickBooks Desktop Point of Sale 18.0.

For more tips while managing your account or POS file, you can also review the different topics from this link: Account management gathers topics for your Intuit Account.

Please let me know how else I can help you with QuickBooks. I'm always here to help. Keep safe!

I have updated my software to the current version available but still no luck. Any other ideas/things that I could try?

I appreciate you upgrading the QuickBooks Point of Sale (POS) to the current version, WMPCS.

After upgrading the software, you need to restart the computer for changes to take effect.

Once back, make sure that you access the file as the master admin. If not,, you can consider contacting the admin of the account so they can check the level of your access.

If you're the master admin, you can clean install the POS to retrieve the Utility function. Please follow steps 1 to 4 through this article: Clean reinstall QuickBooks Point of Sale.

If the same issue persists, you need to repair the software. Check out this article for complete instructions and a quick tutorial: Repair QuickBooks Desktop Point of Sale.

If you're getting the same results, I recommend contacting our QuickBooks POS Team. They can create a case to isolate the issue.

Please use this link to get in touch with them: Chat with us. They're open from M-F 6 AM to 6 PM PT.

Stay in touch with me if there are other things you need with the utility feature in POS. Just leave a comment below, and I'm always right here to help you.
