Quickbooks 2014 Shutting Down

I manage a very small (41 homeowners) property owners association.  Have used Quickbooks 2014 without issue all these years.  Now, all of a sudden, choosing just about ANY action after signing on causes program to shutdown completely.  I can't even get into online help.

Problem began with inability to print invoices with complete line item descriptions, but now can't even prepare an invoice.  Help !!

Quickbooks 2014 Shutting Down

Welcome to the Community, @Duck.

We can run the Repair Tool on your QuickBooks 2014 to get your program running smoothly again. I'm here to walk you every step of the way through this process. Let's begin:

  1. If you haven't already, back up your company file.
  2. Restart your computer.
  3. Open the Windows Start menu, then select Control Panel.
  4. Go to Programs and Features then Uninstall a Program.
  5. Choose QuickBooks from the list of Programs, then Uninstall/Change.
  6. Press Continue.
  7. Click Repair, then Next.
    • Note: The repair should start right away, but it may take a while to finish. You can leave it running, and come back once it's done.

  8. Once it's done, hit Finish.
  9. Restart your computer and Update your QuickBooks to the latest release

That's all there's to it! For more information about this process, click here.

I'd also like to add, after May 31, 2020, access to services will be discontinued for QuickBooks Desktop for Windows 2017 and older. This includes all versions of QuickBooks Desktop Pro, Premier, and Enterprise Solutions 2017. In other words, you'll not be able to subscribe to live technical support or any of the other Intuit services that can be integrated with QuickBooks Desktop. Your access to QuickBooks Desktop Payroll Services, Live Support, Online Backup, Online Banking, and other services through QuickBooks Desktop 2017 or older software will be discontinued after May 31, 2020. This also means you'll no longer receive critical security updates starting June 1, 2020. This explains why you don't see the option for online help. No worries, here's a couple of Community Articles that explain more into detail about this situation:

If you need further assistance, please don't hesitate and reach back out to me. I'm always here to help in any way that I can. Have a great day!
