Anyone who knows when will be the releasing of Quickbooks 2021 version? We're planning to purchase 2020 version however, we just want to make sure it is wise to purchase this now, or wait for 2021 version.Thanks.
Greetings, @nbautista.
I'm delighted to hear your interest in purchasing QuickBooks 20201 version. As of this time, we don't have the specific time-frame as to when will be the new release of QuickBooks-Premier 2021.
However, let me share some of the features that can help you easily manage your business using QuickBooks Desktop 2021:

You may purchase a new license of QBD 2020 starting from this month at some partners/resellers and secure a free upgrade option to QBD 2021.
We are currently a QBO user and have been for a couple years now. However, we have used the desktop premier for years. The QBO program is not geared toward construction companies and this has frustrated me to the point of wanting to switch back to desktop. However, I do not want to purchase the 2020 version when the 2021 version should be coming out very soon. Is there a release date for the 2021 version yet? Is there a way I can purchase the 2020 this week and get a free upgrade to the 2021 when it is released?
Thank you for choosing QuickBooks (QBDT) as your accounting software, @Donovanbro.

You may purchase QB 2020 thru a partner/reseller and secure a free upgrade option to QBD 2021. Otherwise, consider having a 3rd party construction management app for your QBO.
As a contractor I made the move from QBDT to QBO and then back to QBDT. I definitely recommended it. Going back to QBDT is not without challenges. . If you use payroll then there will be even more challenges. I suggest the conversion be completed with the assistance of your accounting firm to verify correct balance come over. You can find some videos on YouTube that will help with the conversion.
Due to COVID-19, I've been working from home a lot. I use back-ups on a thumbdrive to keep the QB files matched. At the office, our QB Desktop Pro updated to the 2021 version for free. When I tried to do the same thing at home it said I have to pay. I'd hate to ask my boss to pay for it when we just got it for free at the office. Now I can't sync the two files. Anyone know what to do?
Hi DollarsNBoxes,
Working at home is really a way to keep some of the businesses running these days. I will help you with your QuickBooks.
You can copy the new license and product numbers of QuickBooks in the office and use them to upgrade your QuickBooks at home. You can find them by pressing F2. However, I'm a bit skeptical about this because it was for free and could be exclusive to that computer.
At home, you can uninstall QuickBooks. Then, download the 2021 version and register it using the numbers you got from QuickBooks in your office. I would also suggest copying the license and product numbers of the older version by pressing F2 before uninstalling it. It should look like this:
Once done, you can reinstall the QuickBooks Desktop. To know more about the steps, you may check this article: Install QuickBooks Desktop.

MarsStephanieL, thank you so much! I will try that. We are a small nonprofit performance company so you can imagine how tight funds are right now. Hopefully this will do the trick.
