The re-certification for QuickBooks Desktop was held between April 20 and August 31, 2020. The next certification exam will be in 2021. The exact date isn't set yet. Rest assured, we will keep you posted once any updates regarding this matter are made available.

You are given four attempts to pass each section of the exam at a minimum passing score of 80%.

To earn CPE credits for the certification course, you must still complete the individual Training Modules, regardless of whether you qualify for the Update Exam.

You can check for any available self-paced training for QuickBooks Desktop from the Training & Certification drop-down.

Here’s how:

1. Log in to your QuickBooks Online for Accountant account.
2. Select ProAdvisor from the left menu.
3. Click on Certification tab and expand the QuickBooks Desktop Training and Certification drop-down.

If still there is no any available guide for QuickBooks Desktop 2020, then I suggest reaching out to our ProAdvisor Support to help you get one. 

You can reach them by going to the Help icon at the top right of the account. Follow the steps below: 

1. Go to the Help icon to connect to a live support agent. 
2. Provide us with some information about your concern.
3. Select the Contact Us button and provide some details about this concern, then on the Let's talk button. 
4. You'll now be provided options on how to connect to our Customer Support.

I cannot find this exam in my account, where do I go? Is there anything I have to do to have access to QB desktop certification?

I can share with you some information about the QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) Certification Exam.

The QBDT self-paced training and exam is available in QuickBooks Online Accountant. It includes the following:

• updated self-paced training and exam
• updated certification badge
• downloadable certificate and ProAdvisor badge
• the updated certification history section

After becoming certified, you can easily promote your firm and ProAdvisor badge to the Find Accountant site.

I have noticed that the QB Desktop Re-certification Exam is available to take. What is the window for re-certification here?

Additionally, is there any news yet on the re-certification window for Online and Online Advanced 2021 as well?

Currently, there's no publicized timeframe for taking our QuickBooks Desktop ProAdvisor Recertification Exam.
 

As for QuickBooks Online exams, no timeframes have been published yet. The best place to verify if you'll need to recertify is in your training portal.

I'm also trying to find the desktop timeframe. However, I wanted to let you know that the online certification (regular and advanced) closes June 30, 2021!
