quickbooks windows 10 feature update

after installing windows 10 feature update ver 2004 quickbooks does not run. it fails with code 1712 something to do with .net framework. the only way to fix it is to roll it back to previous version. we have worked with intuit support with no luck. Has anyone else experienced this. any suggestions would be appreciated

I'm here to help you get past this error 1712, @larryboyd.
 
This error occurs when there are one or more missing Windows components. We can use the QuickBooks Tool Hub to fix this.
 
Follow these instructions to download and install the tool:
  1. Close your QuickBooks.
  2. Download the QuickBooks Tool Hub file.
  3. Open the QuickBookstoolhub.exe file. It gets saved in the download folder.
  4. Follow the on-screen steps to install and agree to the terms and conditions.
  5. Click Finish.
  6. Double-click the icon on your Windows desktop to open the tool hub.

 

From there, let's run the Quick Fix my Program tool from the Tool Hub.

  1. In the QuickBooks Tool Hub, select Program Problems.

  2. Select Quick Fix my Program.
  3. Retry installing QuickBooks.
 
If that doesn't fix the error, add or create a Windows user with Administrator rights. Then, attempt QuickBooks installation. This will help set up programs and change settings in Windows, so QuickBooks will run properly. You can also refer to this guide: Error 1712.
