Just within the past 2 or 3 days I noticed that I can no longer close QuickBooks desktop Premier 2020 with either using the File> Exit or clicking on the X in the window. After selecting either one, nothing happens - no errors, just remains open and cannot do anything further.
I have tried the repair tool and also re-installation without resolution. The only way to close the QB desktop after trying the correct way is to use the Windows Task Manager.
Running Windows 10 with all updates and QB with all updates.

Beforehand, may I know if you've received an error message when closing QuickBooks? Any information and screenshots added will help us resolve the problem.
Additionally, have you tried the troubleshooting steps given by my colleague above and had the same problem? If so, I suggest running the Verify Data and Rebuild tools. These features will help self-identify data issues within a company file and self-resolve them using Rebuild Data.

Furthermore, ensuring your QuickBooks is up-to-date with the latest release enables you to utilize the software's full functionality and benefits from all updates.
Moreover, make sure your Windows OS and QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) are up-to-date, as software glitches may be resolved by installing the latest updates. Also, check your antivirus/firewall settings to ensure QuickBooks is listed as an exception or temporarily disable them to troubleshoot closure issues.
