Alt+M Shortcut for QB Desktop invoicing

When I started invoicing for this week, I've found that when I use Alt+M to jump to the Customer Message box to add date range information, it now shortcuts to the main menu to "Move to Intuit Enterprise Suite".

If I click on Move to Intuit Enterprise Suite, it just tells me that I don't have an active contract for that.  I don't want a contract for Enterprise Suite, I just want to be able to get my invoicing completed in a timely manner.

Am I the only user that used the Alt+M shortcut?  Is there a new shortcut to quickly move to that box?

Alt+M Shortcut for QB Desktop invoicing

Hey there, @debbiedp! I understand how a change in a familiar shortcut can be disruptive. While the Alt+M shortcut no longer moves the cursor to the customer message box in newer versions of QuickBooks Desktop, you can still navigate there quickly by using the Tab key. This is often the fastest and most reliable method. Press the Tab key repeatedly from your current field, and it will cycle through all the fields on the invoice until you reach the customer message box.

Alt+M Shortcut for QB Desktop invoicing

Hi Cody.  Please open an invoice and try the tab key from the invoice # field.  It advances to Bill To, Terms, Grade (on my invoices because I have a field for that). It then advances to the body of the invoice: Item, Quantity, Description, Rate, Class, Amount, then Item, Quantity, Description, Rate, Class, Amount, Item, Quantity, Description, Rate, Class, Amount, Item, Quantity, Description, Rate, Class, Amount, Item, Quantity, Description, Rate, Class, Amount, Item, Quantity, Description, Rate, Class, Amount...

It seems that it will rotate through those lines continuously.  The only way that I have found now to get to the Customer Message field is to click on it with the mouse.  Please let me know if you find an easier way to navigate to it.

The reuse of the Alt-M shortcut also affects the creation of bills - specifically you can't jump between the Expenses tab (Alt-X) and the inventory Items tab (Alt-M).  when you try to toggle between the two, the "Move to Enterprise Suite" menu option gets activated, and disrupts the entire flow of using Quickbooks to do anything productive.

REALLY stupid reusing a highly efficient shortcut for the purposes of upselling your current users.

PLEASE give us a way to remove that menu choice.

THANK YOU to whoever fixed this.  I started invoicing this morning and automatically used the Control+m because it's habit after all these years - and it worked again!

Thanks for following up with the Community, debbiedp.

I'm happy to hear your Control + M keyboard shortcut is working again for QuickBooks invoicing.

I've also included a detailed resource about working with invoices which may come in handy moving forward: Create & manage invoices
