To fix this, ensure the barcode is imported and set up correctly in QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT). Also, you must log in as an admin and back up your company file before you import.
Then, you should have created a custom field to track additional items for the barcode. Here's how:
- Change the mode to Switch to Single-user Mode from the File section.
- Go to Lists. Then, pick Item Lists, double-click any item, and select Custom fields.
- Choose Define Field. On a new line enter the label name. You can use Barcode 2 as an example.
- In the label field, click Use and OK.
