Can data from Quickbooks Online be transferred to Turbo Tax? I signed up for both thinking they would seamlessly interface when tax time came around and it's a nightmare!

I cannot find a way to download a txf file from Quickbooks and do not want to have to mess around with finding a file converter. Since they are the same company it shouldn't be this complicated.

Can data from Quickbooks Online be transferred to Turbo Tax? I signed up for both thinking they would seamlessly interface when tax time came around and it's a nightmare!

Hello there, @sara6.

Allow me to step in for a moment and share some insights about transferring data from QuickBooks Online (QBO) to TurboTax.

Currently, only the data from QuickBooks Self-Employed (QBSE) can be converted or sent to TurboTax Online. The option to transfer data from QBO to TurboTax is unavailable. The workaround is to manually enter your transactions on your TurboTax account.

I want you to know that I value your time and the success of your business. I'm going to submit feedback on your behalf based on this interaction. I also suggest you make your voice heard by sending feedback directly to our engineers. Just click the Gear icon and choose Feedback.

Keep me posted if there's anything else I can help you with. Just add a comment below or mention my name. Have a good one.

There is absolutely no reason for you guys to not support export of TXF files from QBO except for the fact you want people to move on to the cloud for monthly recurring revenue. This is a nightmare.

Dude @HoneyLynn_G , I don't think your Product Development team is listening to you

@KentB on 01-12-2020 02:38 PM, @AldrinS on 01-28-2019 07:26 AM and @Rose-A on 01-29-2019 01:57 PM said the same thing more than a year ago and still no answer (https://quickbooks.intuit.com/learn-support/en-us/banking/can-i-create-a-txf-file-using-qbo-so-i-can...)

Is both funny and frustrating how Intuit is among the few companies for which their own top products have no compatibility at all, with no valid excuse

That tells a lot how much you listen to your customers and how you lack of vision. Integration is the name of the game when it comes to software, is one of the main selling points. You're not only missing the opportunity to listen to your customers, but to also capitalize from it

Go to intuit.com and the very first thing you see on the top left, right below the url address is what you see on my picture attached here

Everything he said would be true.  It HORRIBLE!!!  You should be able to save report directly  from online in .txf format.  It's almost worthless for taxes.

I found your reply ridiculous. There's no reason QBO shouldn't be able to transfer data to TurboTax.

Hi edfield1,

Currently, the option is to convert your file from QuickBooks Mac to QuickBooks for Windows. And from there, you can export your data to TurboTax. I'll be sharing the articles with steps to guide you on this.

If you need more help with your data, feel free to go back to this thread.

@edfield1

If you don't have any PC to install the trial license of QBD 2021, you may have another workaround. Open a trial account of QB Online and migrate your data into it. Then utilize a bookkeeping app to integrate with your QBO trial account and export a TXF file.
