Can I stop quickbooks putting automatic cheque numbers in ?

Let me help you set up QuickBooks so it won't automatically put a cheque number, ets2jr-yahoo-co.

You need to mark the Print later box when you write a cheque. Doing this will disable the Check no. box. See the attached screenshot below for your visual guide.

QuickBooks will then add this entry to the print queue. This is where you enter a number when printing checks.

I'm adding this article to help set up your print settings correctly: Configure your print settings for printing checks in QuickBooks Online. It provides instructions and detailed steps.

Let me know if you have additional questions about this by commenting below. I'm always right here to provide information about cheque numbers.

There are times when the browser stores frequently accessed data, thus causing websites like QBO, to act weirdly.

To better isolate this one, let's try signing in to your account using a private or incognito window. This mode doesn't use the existing cache data and helps us confirm browser-related issues.

Just follow the keyboard shortcuts below to open a private browser:

  • Google Chrome: press Ctrl + Shift + N
  • Mozilla Firefox: press Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Safari: press Command + Shift + N

If you can now see the Print later box, please switch back to your regular browser and clear the cache. Just in case the problem persists, you can switch to a different supported browser.

Also, the availability of some features in QBO depends on the user type and your access limit. I recommend asking your admin what user type you are. For more details about roles and restrictions, see this article: User roles and access rights in QuickBooks Online.
